The material of the Geisha Plug is interesting. The toy itself is comprised of three different pieces, all different degrees of hardness. The outer part of the bulb is definitely silicone. It has drag, and it is velvety and smooth except for a seam that runs across it horizontally. You can't see a seam in the picture provided, but it is 3/4 of the way down the bulb. Silicone is a food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex-free, phthalates-free, and non-porous, which means it won't harbor bacteria. Silicone has a safety rating of 10/10. Silicone can only be used with water-based lube. I will touch on this more later. The material is stretched tight over what seems to be a plastic interior bulb, however it can be pinched and pulled a little. The plastic interior bulb is hollow, and holds the geisha ball. I am unsure about what the Geisha ball is made of, though I would assume metal since it is weighted. You can see in the picture where the silicone outer bulb ends, and the plastic interior bulb stems out into the neck of the toy. In the picture it is shinier than the silicone portion, but in real life it is matte. Although the plug is marketed as 100% silicone, I believe the neck and base are plastic. Plastic has a safety rating of 8/10. It is velvety to the touch, phthalate-free, and non-porous as well. However, it can't be boiled. More on care and cleaning later. The bottom of the base is also plastic, I believe and as it is a piece separate from the neck, there is a small crevice than runs along the edges. Water may get into this, so I am going to say it's not waterproof. It is splashproof however, and a little water when cleaning should be fine.
The silicone and plastic have no taste or smell initially, though it does tend to pick up scents after use. To prevent smells, I would suggest cleaning it directly after use and let it sit to air out after it has been dried. The longer it airs out, the more the smell fades. Storing it directly after using and cleaning it will trap smells.
The toy is very rigid because of the plastic interior, though it does have a tiny bit of give on the outer silicone portion. I would say this toy becomes more comfortable the longer you wear it. The rigidness may be a little uncomfortable at first if you are not used to rigid toys, but the longer it is in, the more you get used to it. There is no flexibility to this plug at all. Because of this it may not make a great first toy, although the size would suggest otherwise.
The texture, or lack thereof, does not necessarily add to the stimulation, though it does aid in insertion and comfort. It is perfectly smooth, except for the seam which I cannot feel during use. The texture is definitely okay for beginners and advanced users alike.
The design of this toy is simple and elegant. It starts off at a rounded tip and grows to a bulb that is 1" in diameter and 4" in circumference. Inside the bulb is a weighted geisha ball, which I believe to be metal. It then drops off to a very slender neck, and then flares out at the base. The base makes it perfectly safe for anal play. It is a total of 3" in length, with 2 1/2" insertable.
The size makes it perfect for beginners. My first anal toy was 1" in diameter, and I had no problems with it. I would recommend this to anyone who is new to anal play. However, the geisha ball provides an intense stimulation that will draw the attention of intermediate and advanced users as well.
The shape works very well. The rounded tip is much narrower than the rest of the bulb, aiding in insertion, yet not pointy or pokey. I would say it is ergonomic. The neck is so narrow that the plug will really stay in place, and the flared base makes it safe. My only qualm with the shape is that the base is small enough that I have a hard time grasping it in order to remove the toy. I have to use all my fingers to grab it, and sometimes I even pinch myself when trying to take it out. It's easy to do.
It's fairly discreet in that it is not realistic, but I think most people could figure out what it is used for. It is travel-friendly, but it will rattle around a bit in a bag or suitcase.
The Geisha Plug provides intense stimulation and a unique feeling. The size itself adds very little stimulation, but the geisha ball inside is what makes it special! The ball is weighted and moves when you move. This 'magnifies sensation' as the package says. It is a strong sensation and a little weird at first. I don't know what to compare it to besides vaginal exercisers. It works your muscles in just the same way. I find that my muscles will randomly contract as a reaction to the ball moving around. Just imagine a bulb with a little ball inside it, inserted anally. As you move side to side, so does the ball. As you walk, the ball bounces up and down. During sex, the ball bounces off all the walls of the toy, providing a unique sensation. It is intense though, so while the size is great, even for beginners, you should prepare yourself a bit before inserting the plug. I'm not saying beginners cannot use this toy, I am merely saying it is a bit on the extreme side. I recommend it to anyone regardless, especially the adventurous types. It is a lot of fun, and I'm glad I tried it! I find no flaws with the performance of the toy. It is easy to use. You just grasp the plug where the bulb meets the neck and insert it slowly. It is comfortable enough to be used for long-term wear as well as during sex. It does make a small rattling sound which is barely heard when inserted. I put it at 1 bee.
While it says it is 100% silicone, nowhere on the package does it say it can be boiled. This is most likely because plastic cannot be boiled, and I am sure that is what the neck and base are made of. Not only that, but the plug is not waterproof and should not be submerged. This toy is best cleaned with soap and water, or an alcohol-free wipe, or toy-cleansing spray. Make sure you dry it well and allow it to air out before you store it. It is best stored in a ziplock bag or a toy pouch, but just make sure it does not touch any other silicone toys as it will ruin and deteriorate them. For the same reason, do not use silicone lube. Water-based is the safest and easiest. I recommend JO H2O Anal. I would say this toy is relatively easy-to-clean and easy to store.
The packaging is cheap and minimal. It is two pieces of cardboard with a plastic housing sandwiched in the middle. You have to tear or cut open the cardboard to remove the housing and get to the toy. It is not good for storage, as it is ruined as soon as you open it. It may or may not make a nice gift. It is recyclable, however.
On the front is the Dorcel logo, and a window for the toy. To the left is a naked woman and to the right is "Geisha Plug" and a snippet of information, mostly in French. The back has a small diagram of the toy that shows the ball inside. It has a male symbol and a female symbol, meaning it can be used by both genders. It also has a little information in six languages. "The Geisha Plug is a butt plug using the technology of Geisha balls: the weight contained within moves and magnifies sensation. Soft touch - 100% silicone. Deepen your pleasure!"
It includes the web address of the manufacturer.
I had a great experience when using this toy. I tried it out on several occasions.
The first time I tried it I was a little overwhelmed. I planned on leaving it in, but it was so intensely stimulating that I had to take it out after 5 minutes or so. It caused me to have a bowel movement directly after removing it. There is a reason why I say to use this plug after having a bowel movement. If you don't, the strong stimulation may cause you to 'go.'
I tried again another day. This time I used the bathroom beforehand and left the plug in for several hours. It was a little uncomfortable at first because it is so rigid, but I got used to it quickly. I enjoyed the sensations, but they were mild since I was sitting still. I decided to take the dog for a walk. It motivated me to get moving, since usually I don't like to get up and walk the dog. I had fun walking. It put a bounce in my step. I kept pace well since the faster I walked, the more stimulation I received. I didn't stop to rest often, as that stopped the stimulation as well. I even jogged a little which I hate doing, just for the extra stimulation it brought me. The dog had fun and took a nap afterwards. We both got good exercise.
The next time I used it was with a partner. The geisha ball inside the plug went crazy, and I'm sure he could feel it too! The harder the thrusting, the more it bounced. It was a lot of fun. I noticed that when I got smacked on the ass, the ball bounced in a really nice way for a couple seconds and it was very pleasurable. I brought this to my partner's attention, and he had fun making the ball move inside me.
This toy was fun during sex, but it even became a motivator for me to get active! I see myself using this a lot in the future.
