Edited by Cole Riley, a master of urban fiction, Making the Hook-Up is a sensationally authentic set of stories that revels in all the richness and variety of black sexuality. Well-written, passionate, and provocative, this erotic anthology is a feast for the senses and a treat for the soul.
Cole Riley holds no bounds in this book of bold, black erotica, with stories as creative as the soulful simmer of Nina Simone, as urgent as the barely concealed bite of John Lee Hooker, and as innovative as the muted moans of Miles Davis.

Ultimately a job extremely well done. A satisfying erotic collection of stories whatever color your skin is. Quite the most visceral collection of short stories I’ve ever delved into
This is a beautiful soulful look at love, sex and life from an African American point of view that never the less speaks to any and all people. It is lush, lyrical, humorous, and sad all in one anthology and the writers are superb storytellers that wind you into the story before gently disengaging leaving you feeling full and satisfied.
Making the Hook-Up is an excellent compilation of hot, hot, HOT erotica, mixed with a bit of culture, soul, and sensuality. The editor's purpose was to find "edgy, stereotype-busting stories" and I think he did just that. I walked away from this book feeling privileged for being able to read it, and I think you will, too.
Making the Hook Up is a sexy, edgy anthology that is filled with the soul and inspired by African American Culture. Edited by Cole Riley and written by eighteen authors. Making the Hook Up has eighteen stories that are all different. It is humorous, naughty, adventurous, daring, and just down right sexy. I recommend Making the Hook Up to someone that enjoys a variety of erotica.
Making The Hook-Up leaves a lot to be desired of any erotica book. I found it so painfully bad and poorly written that I couldn't even finish reading it. And I am a woman that loves black erotica.
