Summary: Playing With Fire is a collection of short stories that all involve, well, playing with fire. Save for one story that the editor uses to 'cool everything off' at the end. Every story is well written and more focused on the experience and the journey rather than the act itself.

- Playing with fire is a book of 22 short erotic stories from 22 different authors. Totaling 162 pages, the stories range in length from a few paragraphs to a few pages.
The premise for each story is that of the taboo and all, except the last one, involve fire in some way. While some stories involve fire in its physical form, some take fire to just be intense heat, like that of a heat wave in the country. The very last story of the book is a tale about water, which the editor states is a "cool refreshing finale to a crackling collection."
Instead of multiple stories of say, a man and a woman getting it on at home, maybe foraying into the kitchen, we see tales of a woman who teases a man and gets herself chained to a tree and left there after being used like she wanted, a married man who picks up a woman in a bar and gets dominated and tortured in the back of his car, a couple who stay up late waiting for a thunderstorm to bring cooler temperatures that will allow them to finally be close again and once the rain starts they just can't wait. One story is about a man lighting matches, and the sensual erotic-ness that can come from a simple match lighting.
Some stories are tamer than others, but each story is written very well, focusing more on the experience that the character(s) go through rather than just on the act itself.

- –Sam (aka Jul!a)'s opinion
- The book itself is relatively small, about 8" tall by 5 1/2" wide. As a paperback, it won't hold up to tons and tons of abuse, but with normal use, it will be fine. For outward appearances, it isn't the most discreet for appearances, but the title on the front isn't that large, so if you can cover that with your hand while reading, you can pass it off as just a regular book with a more 'risque' picture on the front.

Experience
- –Sam (aka Jul!a)'s opinion
- I really enjoy erotica, but I don't own that many books of it. Given the opportunity to not only expand my collection, but also the types of stories, I couldn't resist.
The types of stories in Playing With Fire aren't normally the ones that I go for when browsing erotica, but I still found most of them hot and exciting in some way. Not all of them were my personal cup of tea, but I did enjoy reading every story in the book. I had my fiance read the book as well and he summed it up pretty well when he said that it seemed like the point of the collection was more about the journey to the climax, rather than the climax itself. Which is something I look for in well written literotica.

Playing with fire is an anthology of sexy stories about giving in to those urges we know we shouldn't. There's voyeurism, public sex, stranger sex, couples sex, and taboo sex throughout this book. Infidelity is a strong them in this book, though, so it may not be for everyone.

"Playing with Fire" includes quite a few sexy stories that really include unique plots and different ways of looking at things. However, some of the plots really do toe the line of what is consentual, and with those stories, I find myself more uncomfortable than aroused.

Alison Tyler gives us a collection of Fire and heat themed Erotica. The subtitle is "Taboo Erotica." Cuckolding, Threesomes, Humiliation, Bondage and Domination Submission and a moderate sprinkling of just the right amount of pain, added to a great deal of Pleasure makes this collection of stories a good read for those interested in "Taboo Erotica" or just plain old good Kink.
The cover picture alone could sell this book, and liking that, one won't be disappointed with the contents.

Raw and elegant at once, Playing With Fire holds several of the hottest stories I've ever read---like a flame draws a moth this anthology will enthrall you, heat you up. My vagina would love to give five stars to this perfect blend of heavy-on-the-sex "taboo" erotica, but lack of informed consent threw a bucket of water on some stories. My conscience keeps Playing With Fire at four stars---but they're very, very hot stars, and they won't be burning out any time soon.

Light on plot but heavy on straight sex, this collection of erotica stories is ideal for people who want to heat things up quickly without a lot of wasted words. The subtitle *is* "Taboo Erotica" though, so be sure you're ready to read about lots of cheating.

In my experience this is a great book for everyone. Its not too into the fire play that it makes you cringe, but its not too light that it makes you want more. Its just right. I think there is something for everyone in this book. I say, check it out. What could it hurt?

What can I say about a collection of Steamy Taboo Erotica? It was hot! I really enjoyed the kink. Get your own copy of this book and get turned on by its spicy sex stories. This book is full of variety and plays with the edge of danger.

It's the taboo, the forbidden, that we can't seem to stay away from. Alison Tyler's anthology is full of stories that are off-limits but completely, unabashedly arousing. Topics range from affairs to threesomes to passionate trysts with strangers. Whatever they may be, they're certain to have you in flames.

As a book of stories that deal with fire, Playing With Fire hits the mark. But I was expecting something a bit more heavy and darker. The fire was just kind of there and so was the sex.

This book is a very good array of short stories for readers who want something short and sweet. Very well written and enjoyable.
