I definitely know what you mean about that. Personally, I'm allergic to sterling silver, so nickel is better for me (though I wouldn't be the one wearing it anyway). The nail polish does work, but like you said, it wears off. Especially with that bit gag, the non-smelted cheek rings might make that a bit harder to do.
