The Eden Spa glass dumbbell massager is made from borosilicate glass, also known in the kitchens across the world as Pyrex glass.
Glass does not have any tastes or smells lingering on it, so people with sensitivities should have no problem using this massager. When first taken out of the pouch the massager is housed in, it will be very cold to the touch, but warms quickly to body temperature, or any hot or cold liquid or oil that it comes into contact with. The surface is very smooth, and lacks any form of texture, so it feels nice when gliding across the skin. Because it is glass, the material is firm, and has no give, so it can really pinpoint sore muscles.
If using this as a kegel exerciser, be sure to remember that the object is rigid, and it can bruise sensitive tissues if mishandled. Do not use this anally, as it can become lost.
The shape of the dumbbell massager is exactly like that of an exercise dumbbell of the same name. There are two bulbed ends, and a narrow handle in the middle to grip. The shape of this massager from Eden is great for rolling on the back and down the spine. It can also be used on the back of the legs and the thighs. This particular dumbbell massager can also double as a kegel exerciser.
The design is easy to hold in the user's palm, but because of its shorter design, may not be as easy to manipulate in larger hands. It's a great size for traveling with, because users can fit it in the pocket of their handbag or luggage on the go and won't be an embarrassing find should your luggage be searched. If using this massager as a kegel exerciser, be sure to lubricate the end before insertion, as the circumference is wide and may not be best for beginners to kegel exercises or glass in general.
The measurements are as follows:
Overall Length - 5-1/2 inches
Circumference of One Bulb - 5-1/4th
Circumference of Other Bulb - 5-1/16th
Circumference of Handle - 2-7/8ths
Length of handle - 2-1/4th inches
Use of the Eden Spa dumbbell massager couldn't be simpler. This item works best when used along the spine, and delivers a nice, tingling sensation when heated or cooled in a bath. When adding oil into the mix, whether hot or regular oil, the feeling of the bulbed ends along the back feel luxurious as they roll over the skin, creating pressure against sore or tired muscles. This massager is best used to target large muscle groups, as the more tender the flesh is, the more pain a user might experience. As such, it's best to stick to the back, thigh muscles and calves with this massager.
When using this item as a kegel exerciser, it's best if the user is more advanced. The heft of the massager could cause it to slip out during wear if the pelvic floor muscles are not yet strong enough to accommodate such a weight. However, this massager is easier gripped than some kegel balls which are smaller in size. The massager can be felt in movement, and if you have a low cervix it's best not to use this item as it can push against it when seated. Due to the item being made of glass, this can bruise the cervix.
The Eden Spa Glass Massager is easy to take care of. After you're finished with your relaxing massage, clean up will be a breeze. You can wash your massager in soap and water, put it in the top rack of your dishwasher, boil it, or wipe it down with toy wipes or toy cleaner. If you're worried about bacteria on the surface, you can wash it in a bleach solution of 10% bleach, 90% water. Be sure to rinse your toy thoroughly, and keep a good grip on it as the glass surface can become slippery.
When you're finished washing your massager, you can store it in the pouch it came in, or somewhere padded where it won't bump around other hard objects. If you choose to boil the massager, be sure to handle with care, as it will retain heat directly out of the hot water, and can cause burns. Always inspect your massager for chips or cracks before use, and toss it if you detect any. The rigid material can cause cuts if you use it on your skin with a chip or crack. Handling your massager with tender-loving-care will keep it looking brand new and it will last you a lifetime.
Note: This massager is compatible with all lubricants and oils.
The Eden Spa Massager was shipped in a discreet brown cardboard box without any indication as to what was inside. The box was packed with air-filled pillows to keep the massager from bumping around during shipment. The glass massager came without instructions, and was wrapped in bubble-wrap inside of a red velveteen pouch. The pouch has a tag attached with a UPC code on one side and nothing else. There weren't any instructions that came with the massager, but its use is very up-front if you read the product page.
If you'd like to gift this to someone, the red velvet pouch is a nice bag, but you can also put it in a gift bag or box. Since this isn't considered a sexual product, users don't have to be embarrassed about gifting this or others seeing it.
