The Silicone Super 6" is part of Doc Johnson's new line of medical grade silicone products. Medical grade, or Platinum, silicone is nonporous, can be fully sterilized, is phthalate-free, and is safe to use for sharing (if sterilized between uses). It also has no scent or taste, so there's no worrying about letting the Super 6" air out in order to use it.

This particular piece is extremely firm, having barely any give to it when grabbed or squeezed. Even though the design of the dildo is realistic, it doesn't have a realistic feel like Doc Johnson's UR3 dildo; it's simply hard, smooth, and ridged for pleasure. Because it's so firm, buyers must be cautious and know how they like their insertables: more squishy and soft, or harder? If harder is more desirable, then this dildo is perfect.

The Platinum Silicone Super 6" comes in two different colors, purple and beige, which each have a shiny, pearlescent finish that's a bit sparkly. It's not a very noticeable shimmer, like Tantus's Vamp dildo, but if put in the sunlight, you can tell that it's there. The Super 6" is a complete package dildo; it bears a veiny shaft, a curved head, and a set of flat-based testicles. Why they call it the Super 6", I do not know - the entire length of the dildo is 6 1/2", and it has 5" insertable; it's a very average-sized penis, with a diameter of 1 5/8".

The veins along the top of the shaft are very pronounced, not for looks (as they certainly aren't attractive or realistic) but for pleasure of the person being penetrated. They're very much like ridges, so they give a certain type of internal stimulation that's very enjoyable. Where the shaft meets the head is a fairly deep ridge, but the head is rounded off for comfort so that it can be used safely anally. On the bottom of the shaft is a thin line that meets the head at a few pieces of folded over "skin."

Even though this is a "realistic-style" dildo, it isn't very realistic at all, either in texture or appearance. Everything about it is exaggerated; the ridges, the testicle shape, and the skin fold on the bottom of the penis. In terms of how it works and how it pleasures the person being penetrated with it, I will say that the unrealistic design of it is something that can be overlooked. The Super 6" is fairly heavy, but not heavy enough that people new to using dildos would be intimidated by.

The best part of this toy is how it feels in use (not to the wearer, to the person being penetrated). Because of its design, it can be used in a harness, in a chair/bed, or anally. Used in any of these ways, the Super 6" is perfect. When put on the floor or on a bed to be ridden, it stays in place and doesn't move around (keeping hold of the testicles keeps it put better on carpets or sheets, though). Anally, the ridges might be too much for newer users as they might be too intense, but for people who are ready to feel that (or who have already), they're very enjoyable.

Since I use it in a harness, it was a bit uncomfortable because the silicone is so firm. I wasn't able to bend the testicles enough to sit it properly. I tried it in my new harness, my Slick Jock, as well as my other new harness, my SpareParts Theo. It was much more comfortable in the Theo, and stayed in place as well as erect during use.

I do not believe that size queens/kings would be pleasured by this dildos size, unless they're interested in feeling the ridges. It is average-sized, so it isn't something that would feel full to someone who prefers much larger things inside of them.

Silicone is very easy to take care of, and regardless of this toy's ridges, it can be sterilized and cleaned thoroughly in a number of ways. You can either boil it for about three to five minutes, put it on the top rack of the dishwasher for a cycle, or bleach it with a 10% bleach solution. If you're sharing the Super 6", I recommend boiling it between every use to kill all of the bacteria, and also using a condom if sharing in one play session, switching the condom for each partner. If you're not sharing it, cleaning it with soap and hot water is good too, and boiling/bleaching every three uses is sufficient.

The Super 6" can be stored in its plastic clamshell packaging, or can be put in a Ziploc baggie and put in a toy box or closet. I do not recommend leaving it out in the sun, because it might become discolored.

In terms of lubricant, water-based lubes are the only ones that are compatible with silicone. But if you have a special/favorite lubricant that you like that is silicone-based, test it out on the back of the testicles, only putting a small drop, to see if it can be used. If the surface becomes gummy or starts to become odd-looking, do not use that lubricant.

The Platinum Super 6" comes in a very magnificent, presentable packaging. It isn't something extreme, like some luxury companies might sit their products in, but it's certainly something more beautiful than most mainstream companies would think to put their products in. The dildo itself sits in a plastic clamshell package, which sits in this extravagant thin cardboard box. The box has embellished lettering with a beautiful purple, red, silver, and black color scheme. There is also a base at the bottom of the package, which is very attractive and interesting. On the back of the box is a paragraph about the dildo itself and, in six different languages, a shorthand version of the paragraph.

Even though it's beautifully presented, the box is hard to open and therefore hard to keep. I recommend recycling it, even though it is so lovely. Keeping the Super 6" in its own case would be better for the toy, or even keeping the plastic casing it came in would be great for storage.

There is a little booklet inside of the packaging that is mainly an advertisement for their silicone line. It does go into the positive points of silicone as a sex toy material and talks about some of its special attributes (like how silicone is phthalate-free, nonporous, etc.).

It's made more for pleasure than it is for looks, which is why I do not exactly recommend it for trans- people wanting a realistic silicone dildo. Though it was pleasurable to my partner, it wasn't exactly pleasurable to me when I was wearing it because it wasn't something that I was "proud" of. I have other more realistic feeling and looking penises that I prefer to use. I will say, however, that this one is perfect for anal use because it can be sterilized.
