Overview
Who can live without lust? All day and night our minds run through delicious possibilities - a silky hand beconing us into the VIP lounge; a stranger in the backseat; the hunky FedEx driver bringing his package to the door - not to mention our own lascivious memories. Lust is a collection of erotica by and for women, a fierce and joyous celebration of female desire - and the triple-X trouble it gets us into. With this anthology, the witty and provocative Violet Blue leads readers down a primrose path to a forest of wicked, lustful surprises.

Every story in this anthology is well written, with characters who are more than just lust objects, and so each story feels honest and real. All types of relationships are represented, and there's variety among their encounters. If you're looking for romance novel heterosexual encounters with flowery terms for the naughty bits, look elsewhere. Likewise, try another volume for more extreme BDSM situations. But if you want a variety of tales somewhere in the middle, you've found your book.

If you like your erotica to have characters you can get in the head of, this is a excellent volume for you. Just like knowing a person can often improve the sex, understanding the characters can make the erotica hotter. This book is about boundary pushing and openness, and I love it for that.

Lust is not, as many similar books are, strictly one-handed reading (though it certainly could be). Rather, it is a celebration of possibility in sometimes mundane situations, that encourages you to look for the beauty and possibility in your everyday life. It is the kind of sensitively-written book you could keep on your shelf, read aloud with a lover, or give to most of the women in your life without shame.

I’d definitely recommend this anthology. Through reading, I’ve learned more about myself and am reminded that Lust often transcends gender, a lot like love.
