Its worse than HIV. Atleast HIV can be maintained. People who take their meds are still infectipus, but have pretty close to normal immune systems and a long, ong lifespan. People with C get cirrhosis, half of them will get liver cancer, a very ugly death, mostly all will have liver failure which includes ascites (an abdomen full of poisonous liquid that needs to be tapped like a keg with a thorocentesis needle ), hepatic encephalopathy (a dementia from the amonia and toxins the liver can no longer filter( etc...
You can not look at someone and tell if they are infected or not - just like HIV. What you don't know could kill you. They may not even know themselves. Always use protection. As Dr House syas"People lie. Even fetuses lie"
