I think like a lot of people do, now that she's retired from one career, she's having a hard time adjusting to her new life. The drunk driving and now the battery charge (which has apparently been dropped) certainly sound like the kind of things people do when they have too much time and not enough to do.
Of course it's up to you to pick your role models, but other than the way she managed to get rich in an industry famous for chewing women up and spitting them out, I don't find much to admire! I did enjoy this take on her political foibles last year!

well ok when i say admire i mean when i was 19 she was a great "sex" rolemodel. now shes like u said been chewed up and spit out by many its funny coz i thought more people would be into her but i guess thats just an illusion nowadays and as far as her dui an arrests for supposed battery im like what happened to u less than 10 years ago u were still doing "ok". as a matter of fact her birthday is april 9th so a good time for this discussion. i read her book HOW TO MAKE LOVE LIKE A PORN STAR. its suprisingly interesting and u can see where her problems stem. being a porn star is short-lived but shes branded herself so i applaud that. but it must be easy being a hot sexy woman with mostly horny guys watching

I've always wanted to read her book, and I do think it's awesome that she turned a career in porn into $30 Million, when most women in porn just make enough to get by, and then when they're a little older and can't get work in the industry anymore, they don't have savings OR other marketable skills. I think in that sense, and in her sex-positivity, it WOULD be good to follow her example.

But Jenna Jameson as a person? I really don't find her that impressive and I think she happened to be in the right place at the right time but Nina Hartley paved that path for her (and I don't like her, either)...
You know, pretty much when it comes to porn actors and actresses I can't say that I admire very many of them. It doesn't take much moxy or fortitude in life to spread your legs for a living. Not that it should be looked down upon, it's just a whole different entity and there isn't a whole lot of role model material running around.
