It's a heavier type of play that's going to mark and leave bruises. I don’t mean small bruises. I mean those big, ugly bruises that turn different colors with each day. You’re going to feel it days and days after it’s over.

Novice tops shouldn’t try this type of play until they know where on the body a beating like this can safely be taken. God help if you damage a kidney because you just started whacking away at someone.

Different types of instruments can be used for this type of play. Floggers. Canes. Belts. Paddles. Usually the more ‘thuddy’, the deeper it goes. I have a small leather pouch filled with sand that goes around the hand that adds another ten or so pounds onto a body punch. It’s great for this type of play.

Hope this helps.

Deep impact play can be really unhealthy for the skin. Repeatedly leaving deep tissue marks can lead to the keratonization of the skin, or "leather butt" which is the opposite of what you want to happen during play. It takes a lot of experience, patience, and trust to get into deep impact play, and it's usually the biggest mistake novices make without knowing it. On my blog, I usually never recommend deep impact play unless you absolutely have to have it during play, and even then only sparingly. It's important to make sure your wounds heals before doing it again, as repeated damage to skin can cause cancer in extreme cases. So yeah, experienced kinksters only.
