Using latex or nitrile gloves certainly makes fisting safer (by decreasing the risk of STI transmission), but have you found that it makes fisting your partner or being fisted any easier? At least on the face of it, it seems like using gloves might have two advantages over bare hands. First, gloves are going to be at least slightly smoother and thus cause a little less friction. And second, gloves aren't going to absorb water-based lubes like hands do, so they might stay slippery for longer. But that's just my conjecturing. What have your experiences shown?

I really enjoy gloves (purple nitrile!) and have occasionally used them for vaginal penetration, though I don't have fisting experience. I find that they do stay slippery from lube longer than a bare hand would, and I do enjoy smoothness. (And extra-slippery is a cool thing for handjobs, too.)
