I've only made someone bleed once and it caused enough concern for us to check in with her but after that the play continued right on. I think it really depends on the play you're talking about. I've recently learned that I'm really into needles and since I was 8 I loved going to the doctor to get my blood taken. Someone suggested that they could do needles to take some of my blood and put it in a vial or jar. And that idea really really turned me on.
But I still worry about being safe with blood. As much as blood is an absolute turn on for me, I'd want to do some serious research and testing before ever trying blood cocktails or licking wounds. Safety comes first, fun comes in a close second.

We play hard, very hard sometimes. We don't engage in drawing blood play (although to each their own, it doesn't bother me at all if other people do, as long as its consensual.)
I can't say "We're not there yet." Because we've played with B&D for a long time and neither of us is going to wake up one day and suddenly want blood play. Neither of us enjoy it at all. I don't understand the other choices in the poll. (Neither of us consider having sex during a period "blood play." Blood is a turn on to me, but only in very specific situations. In a scene between Master and I, or with myself and a sub, yes, it's sexy as hell. On the ambulance, I don't find it to be a turn on at all, and my brain gets very cold and clinical.
