We're going to our first munch next week. I'm super nervous about it as I have social anxiety and anxiety in general. I'm worried I'll say or do something goofy or wrong. X.x

Have you been to one? What was your experience? Any tips for little nervous me?

I have not, but would love to hear about some other people's experiences! I'm sure it comes down the the crowd of people that you meet.

I get social anxiety too, the best advice I can give is "fake it till you make it"! It is a challenge, but you will be proud of yourself afterwards. I hope you have fun!

Nope, I have never attended a munch because I'm not interested in BDSM. I've read an article about community munches in my area, those gatherings are supposed to be very relaxed and friendly, so just take it easy and have a good time!

I've been to a couple. I was nervous because I am shy and didn't know anyone going in. They were fun though, everyone was nice and it was very relaxed. You couldn't tell it was a BDSM gathering.

I think it was easier for me because I am a cute girl so I didn't have to initiate conversation and I could just wait for people to talk to me.

I'm actually planning on attending my first a month from Saturday (the community I'm interested in has a monthly potluck that newbies can attend and I can't go this week). I'm also nervous, but from friends of mine in the scene I've heard that people tend to be really welcoming and supportive.

I've been to a few! They can be a great way to meet people in your area with similar interests. It helped a lot for me, since I'm still new to this area.

I haven't been to one and feel no real need to go but that's usually because I'm wary of being surrounded by strangers and wouldn't be too fond of running into individuals who might overstep their boundaries or something. It'd be kinda nice to meet like-minded kinky individuals, though.

As per request, and update.

We went last night and had a nice time. Luckily the place it was held served drinks because I don't think I would have made it without them. lol I was super nervous most of the time because of my anxiety, but everyone was very nice and welcoming.

Not sure if we'll be able to go back because my husband usually works well past the time they happen. Hopefully on days he gets off early we may be able to go again and make some new friends.
