Google 'Sounding.' It's actually not that uncommon, especially in the BDSM scene. They make tools for it, that are glass and silicone and metal, but I really don't think that wires and spoons are safe!

Sounding isn't that uncommon but it's definitely not something on my "to-do" list. I've heard too many horror stories about people having things break inside of their urethra . These people weren't using objects that are specifically made for sounding though...I'd assume everyday household items aren't the safest for sounding.

Sounding can be done VERY safely and it can be very pleasurable when done right I definitely have a big thing for sounding, the biggest thing is to just make sure you keep yourself and the toys clean. There's metal and silicone sounds and plugs you can buy online, I definitely wouldn't recommend using anything that's not super smooth and sterilized. It's an easy way to get a UTI if you don't.
