I think it totally depends on the person. I know I'm pretty vanilla, but I like some force now and then. I have friends who are into stuff way rougher than me, though.

I would disagree with that statement. Not every bottom does a scene to 'enjoy' it. Some are done as a test of endurance, and some just because that is their preferred style of play.
