When I had a domme, i wore a choker collar as my day collar. It looked like a piece of jewelry. It didn't lock which was a symbol of trust. I was instructed by my domme to tell anyone who asked directly what it was that it was a collar that I wore to symbolize my dom/sub relationship. The exceptions were my father and grandparents and work clients. I loved it and loved wearing it and though there were some uncomfortable explanations, it was part of the relationship that I really loved. I was never allowed to take it off and had to wear it 24/7 unless I was performing (I'm an actor) in which case I was only allowed to take it off if my domme was not there and had to put it back on immediately after the performance concluded. If she was there, I had to ask her to remove it before the show and replace it after. I'm currently uncollared but hope that will change eventually.

I don't currently own a collar that I feel really "counts" (a cheap velcro one from an anime convention is not good for much of anything, what was i thinking!), but i would definitely like to! I like them a lot aesthetically, and it would be nice to have for in the bedroom; I do love the idea of wearing one to signify that i'm owned, but ironically enough the person i'd want to "belong to" isn't a dom at all. I suppose it would be more of a mutual ownership? I think a kinky expression of our close queerplatonic relationship would be really nice, but that's a thing to figure out as we go. In the meantime I'm trying to rack up points here to save some money on a collar to use when I sub for my boyfriend :3

Oh, trust me, I've drooled over many a locking collar, lol (Especially the black "Phantom" Eternity Collars, though I don't like that the higher the circumference of the collar, they use a thicker gauge of metal, I'd rather mine be a thin gauge and somewhat roomy if I ever get one. But I do *love* that they're black if I could find one that's black, maybe about 18-20inches in circumference and a thickness of 5/16", then I may have to go and show it to Synthetik, lol)

I loved wearing a collar all the time because it gave me something to think about/focus on when I wasn't able to be with Him. Also, since I tended to dress more 'goth' when I was younger, it blended it with my normal wardrobe, and no one ever thought anything of it.

I used to wear a pet store collar for myself because I wanted to. When I got together with my fiancess we got very heavy for a whille and he made me a chainmail collar putting the last links in while I was wearing it so I could not take it off.
We went through a lot of stuff and I felt I was not worthy of the collar so I asked him to cut it off. Then promptly ran to the bathroom, curled in a ball on the floor, and cried until my eyes felt like sandpaper.
We still have them but with our current situation I am not able to be as submissive as I would like to be.

I identify as a masochist. I'm not really submissive and I'm definitely not a slave, but I wear one most of the time because I like the way they look and feel. I love being pulled forward by it (and not just during sex, so I guess that is part of why I wear one most of the time) or being led on a leash. I tend to avoid wearing one to kink events because I don't want people to think that I'm owned.
It's a thin and basic leather one with a small D-ring. It was rather cheap, but I didn't get it from a pet store.

Currently, I have a cloth dog collar that I wear during sceneing and when he wants to reinforce the D/s aspect of our relationship. Because it's an obvious collar, I don't wear it 24/7 (plus it hurts my neck when I sleep).
Eventually, my Dominant is going to make me a chainmaille collar that I can wear everyday. A 'stealth' collar, as it were, and we'll switch to the more rugged dog collar during play since it can handle things better.

I don't wear a collar as a top/Domme, but I do have a relatively inexpensive one in my toy bag for play. If I ever wind up partnering with a really special submissive, I'll buy him/her/hir a collar just for them, but for now the play collar is perfect to have on hand.
