I want to find out different opinions about the facts of leaving/getting bruises. (This can include biting, hickeys, spanking, etc.)

This is mainly because I feel really weird when my partner gets upset about leaving a particularly dark hickey or bruise from a bite on me. Personally, I would just have to say that in an artistic way, I feel like bruises look beautiful on skin if they were caused by a mutual loving act. And in an extremely possessive way, I like knowing that my partner has marked me. It's like being classified as theirs.

So that's why I'm wondering. Do other people have a similar view of bruising as me?

I bruise easily enough just doing every day things. I'll barely run into something and get a bruise. I was told that I'm anemic the last time I went to the doctor. I'd rather not purposefully let it happen! Plus, I prefer an affectionate relationship, I'm not into getting hit or hitting.

i have never given or received bruises. but wouldnt mind. i have had a hickey in my younger days but do not prefer them. i have left scratch marks on my husband though.

i do not like bruises anywhere that an ordinary article of clothing couldnt cover up.

I am so conflicted when it comes to bruises. I enjoy the occasional bruise, because I like when something gets bumped up against and slightly hurts, which reminds me of the actions that put it there. However, I bothers me a little bit to see them. I bruise easily and if we're not careful I'm covered in them. If I were to leave a bruise on my partner I would probably feel bad.

I love giving and getting, they are fun little reminders. I always make sure they are in hideable spots though, no one else needs to know what I do for fun. Plus I work in an adult store, so just way too many ways it can backfire if a customer sees.

Biting and hickeys are common likes and shows of "affection," but neither are for me.

Bruising is from actually injuring your blood vessels and that just scares me a little bit. I mean I usually have a few as I work out on my fitness pole, so I do get them and don't freak out because hey, accidents happen, but I don't think I'd like the idea of making them happen.

Bruising from a hit, not a hickey or something, is borderline abuse in my opinion and no, I am not okay with that. If someone is hitting me hard enough to leave a bruise, I'd have to take a step back and figure out if that was crossing over into the category of abuse rather than love.

I don't bruise super easily, but I do get them. I do not feel that bruises are beautiful. When I see them all over my legs it only reminds me that I am too rough on myself.

I guess I'm very opposite of most people where this is concerned because I'd have a problem with someone leaving a mark on me (again!) and I'd have an even bigger one with anyone getting the idea that I was their property to "mark." And when others see a battered & bruised female in public, the idea they get is usually not "oh, she's taken," but one of concern.

I am more of a light play kind of girl. My partner too. We don't thrive off of actually causing one another physical pain, but a little spanking and flogging can produce thrilling sensations.

i love getting marks. Especially from impact, spanking, flogging, paddling, caning. And i love showing them off around people who will understand and appreciate them. Although i'm not a Top in the BDSM world, i do like leaving marks on my Mistress when i can get away with it, usually hickies or bite marks, but She mostly doesn't appreciate them and typically won't allow them unless it's really in the heat of the moment. Though She loves marking me. Alas, such a hard life i live. :-P

Sometimes I get disappointed when I don't get a bruise! I like them I don't mind giving them as long as the other person doesn't mind receiving them.

I don't like any kind of pain. I like light spanking though, but nothing too rough. I think bruises are really unnecessary and not sexy.
