When I started I was definitely in the non-realistic camp. Abstract and colorful just made it more comfortable.
Now it doesn't bother me as much either way. Because a non-realistic dildo isn't limited to a certain shape my opinion is that they can be made more stimulating/better feeling, but unfortunately there are few large nonrealistics out there, at least carried by EF.

I like it both ways. Kind of depends on the mood, the type of play, and what size range I feel like that particular day. For us, it is about the intent. If the pegging is part of a scene including humiliation, then a realistic dildo is a must. If the pegging is just for milking or anal stimulation... the stylized dildos are usually better.
If it was just based on how they feel, I would sat that the non-realistic tend to be better because they have more creative shapes and textures.
