It took us probably five or six months to get it in gear... I am in a long distance relationship, so we needed to wait. We probably discussed it 4 months in advanced but that was enough time, after being forced to wait, for both of us to become comfortable talking about it and sharing our feelings on the idea. We had enough time to decide the best scenario, what could/couldn't be said (as D/s was an element), etc.,. If we didn't have that forced distance, I couldn't say how it would have turned out.
