So it should be sometime in August. Perhaps the 15th or so? Enough time for people to explore other avenues of anal play before, but enough time afterward so they can come back for seconds (and thirds) if they like it and not be "outside the month".

Not sure what it would do? But it would put a spot light on something that's already going on only for the mainstream media to poke fun of it.

I like the idea of a pegging holiday, and the comments above have some good ideas. I don't think it has to be a national event though. Why not just have it start as an EF event? Maybe a preadvertised sale on pegging 'supplies'. That would raise awareness and allow people to plan for it. Couples could make an occasion of it. If it catches on, so much the better.

It really is too bad there is such a bad connotation about anal fun. I heard it was made fun of in the beginning of Friends With Benefits. Just sad.
