I can't say that I have actually. Though I'm not sure what you mean by 'wear out' (assuming you mean use to the point where it's unusable any longer).

We don't have any. My partner just a few minutes ago actually freaked out a bit because we were both absentmindedly playing with the ends of a braided, stringy, leather tie belt that came with a sweater while we were talking, he looked down and thought he was playing with a whip for a second. Then I explained with was the belt I took off the shirt I was wearing and he proceed to pretend it was whip.
