anyone able to give us some suggestions on how to use some of this stuff? I lack creativity when trying this sort of new stuff out and would like some folks to give us ideas on how to use some of these things. anything you can offer up would be great.

Hi there - welcome to the lifetyle (a common term for bdsm) I would not suggest starting out with a rubber whip, rubber hurts, alot. And if she it new to pain, and you are dispensing it, you will want something more gentle. Here is a website I like that compares the different types of whips. Now I am the one recieving the whip, not dispensing it so if you would like a perspective from the other end, ask and my husband who has an account here too will try to answer. Here is a nice website on flogger materials link
Again, if you do not want to start with SERIOUS pain stay away from the rubber. I would highly recommend the under the bed restraint system from sportsheets, we have had it for 5 years and still use it on a regular basis. It is good for everything from light to heavy play sessions.

I like the sensua suede whip. The suede is pretty soft and causes a mild sting. I think it would be great for those who don't know if they would like heavier play. It can be used to tease as well almost like a feather. My husband likes it wrapped around his penis and gently pulled during oral. It's a quality toy that can be used for gentler play as well as some stingy spankings. It's one of our favorite toys.

It's smaller than most floggers which makes it great for close personal play. You don't have to be very far away from your partner to use it.

We bought a pair of handcuffs, I think that is a good start.

We bought some rope, and my future husband bought a knot book. Learn how to tie knots and tie her up.

I feel like the best thing to do is to just fire up google and read read read. I think something simple like a bed restraint system is a nice way to start.

Safety is most important. Read up on that before anything else

I personally think these are great for a beginner, and they hold up really well! I reviewed them, and they are the best cuffs I've ever used, great for beginners or people who are more advanced.

This could be fun to consider, depending on what you want to do because they are so versatile. With that you basically have wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs, and room to clip a leash or something onto.

The Chained & tamed kit would be perfectly safe for beginners and I've considered getting more restraints. Me and my partner jumped right to rope and knots cause we both found that to be equally exciting.

The chained and tamed kit would be my choice. After seeing it I might get it.
