Like a lot of other people have been saying, go for silicone; it beats jelly every day in my book. As for which silicone toy to choose, I actually think the small silk is a bit TOO small. If you're going to get a toy that's the size of a single finger (maybe smaller, depending on how large your fingers are), why not just, you know, use a finger instead? It's more cost effective, more responsive way to start and you'll probably VERY quickly move past that stage. I'd suggest starting with the silk medium; it's still not very large (from personal experience, a total or near total beginner should have no problem with it) and you won't "outgrow" it quite so quickly.

i would not choose iether. silicone is the best, it can be steralized. i would try the small silk, it is about as big as a finger.
