Are you annoyed when you have to go to work/school on your B-day?

It's slightly annoying since you can't plan to do a day event, but it can be okay if you plan something in the evening. The most annoying part is when you have something important due the next day.

I once jokingly told my boss if she was going to make me work on my birthday I expected a balloon as extra payment.

She laughed and gave me the day off!

It doesn't bother me much to have to go to work or have a class on that day, but what I hate is that my birthday is right around finals time. The week before when they assign all the papers, so I never have time to go out that weekend due to writing papers and studying for finals.

Whenever I was younger and my birthday was on a school day, my mom would just tell them I had an appointment or something, so we could do something fun.

Work doesn't matter. Since I work from home, I can take whenever I want off.

Doesn't bother me, but I also have friends here in the EF staff, so I got to enjoy the day with them. Also, we went to a strip club for lunch. That's always fun.

Usually I do care, but I found that I was stressing out so much over who would and wouldn't remember my birthday that I took it off my facebook profile and didn't remind anyone, didn't take off work (it was on a monday, too). As a result, only three people wished me a happy birthday, and only two of them remembered on their own (my aunt and my sister). My partner's father passed away in june a few years ago so that's usually what he's thinking of instead of a silly birthday

Let's see, well, I'm annoyed this year because it's a Tuesday, I'm turning 21, and uh, currently student teaching. So, I can't do the traditional 21 thing until later in the week (when I won't get free drinks).

I work from home so it does not bother me, as long as I make money and I like that the site I am on promotes our birthdays so it brings more traffic, I usually make out good and I am happy.

I'm a full time homemaker/stay at home mom so I don't have to worry about "going to work/school" on my birthday. It does suck when my birthday falls in the middle of the week and it feels like just any other day but oh well, what can ya do.

Meh, I know the world won't stop just because I'm getting old. I usually don't do much for my birthday, anyway.

I generally don't either, really only for my 16th, 18th, and 21st. Those were my big birthdays in which I had a party and did something special. Otherwise now I don't do too much, maybe plan a weekend day to go out for drinks or something.

I never really had this problem because I have a summer birthday. It was always kind of sad because my friends would be away on vacation when I wanted to celebrate! As for work, I don't care.

I don't mind, since I can always celebrate later.

Meh, I work most holidays. Last year I volunteered to take Christmas so a co-worker could spend the time with her family out of town, so my birthday isn't really a big deal. Besides the people I work with rock and we always have cake and fun during the shift

the only reason i really dont like it is because i work with a bunch of closed minded indviuals and they always want me to pick someplace for my birthday yet we cant have this and they dont like that and it goes on and on untill i just tell them to pick were they want to go...
