Hmm. How would you make the pictures harder to guess without being impossible for anybody who hasn't already studied the toy?

I see so many of the same questions I get sick of responding to the same ones over and over again. When I started here people were on my case if I asked a question without researching the archives first. Dang, now the same one gets asked every couple days.

Me too, I sometimes forget to mark it as a 'Favorite discussions'.

maybe they could be pinned to the top of the forum or something? i know the technology's out there, having seen it on other sites. like, if a certain site member/moderater/owner /whatever posts something, it automatically stays at the top until that user changes the setting or removes the thread, unless they personally set the settings otherwise?

As a newer user (sorry for the barrage of questions), how could we have reached you sooner? Or how would you do things differently about the way we run the clubs and other meetings?
No problem, I'm glad to be of some help.

Hm. I suppose more advertising would have snagged me earlier, for both EF and CEC. The one main difference I've found about CEC is that it's a bit vague in describing what the club is.

I mean, Porn Club, Naked Readers Book Club, those are pretty self-explanatory. "Community Events Commitee" sounds like party planning, whereas the posting makes it appear more like a "city council," where users talk about how to improve the community.

I'd also like if most clubs were maintained by more than one person, especially when it comes to memberships. Waiting two weeks to find out if you're even in a club or not can get aggravating. Maybe a public/forum memberlist for the clubs would alleviate that.

For the timezone issue, what about merging the weekly/biweekly idea with early/late one?

Maybe instead of blocking out the picture, use one of those programs that blur the image. Every day make it less blurry? I'm not sure, but the current format doesn't really work.

How many of you have seen the new "name that toy" contest we've been running? What do you think of ... more
I've actually only caught it once. I'm usually pretty on top of things when it comes to Round-Ups and Rumbles so that surprises me. They get lost in all the other threads, unfortunately.

As far as I know, most clubs are open to anyone. Porn club being an exception only because EF only has so many videos to distribute.

I totally agree. Heck, i don't even understand how to join a club. it took me probably over a year on EF to discover the community features. I wish there was an email when you created your acct or something that unobtrusively explained some of these types of features w/ links & whatnot.

Well the concept behind the CEC was fairly vague to begin with; we're here to discuss community events in general really. Anything we can do to make the community better.

And for the rest of the clubs, there's no wait list to get into them, you just participate. Even Naked Reader and Porn Club are pretty easy, and they're the only ones that really require any kind of notification that you want to join

For the timezone issue, I'll definitely bring that up.

Yeah, I think being able to "sticky" the week's most important threads would be SO helpful. And then after the week is up and they're no longer "relevant", they can be replaced with new Rumbles, Round-ups, Club Meetings, etc. I know that's a lot of tech work though.

That was supposedly easy? I never would've known what the heck that toy was in 8 million & 12 yrs. Then again, I've never been good @ that sort of thing.

THIS.

Though sifting through the threads can be educational, the newest/guideline threads should be pinned or stickied to the top of the subforums.

Also, though I love contests with free prizes, I don't care much for the guessing one from Roundup. It's easy, and paired with the prospect of points for posting, most of the posts on the thread are similar guesses for the picture.

And I know I'm behind a bit but ditto. Not that I don't love my points, mind you, but the forum just ain't what it used to be.

Oh, maybe either when I created my acct you didn't or I just didn't read it. It's entirely possible.

I cant imagine why it would be hard. I see it in many other forums and some where it will even give the user the option to pin things to the top of what they are seeing on their screen.

As something that might work as a substitute for sticking threads at the top of the forum, if you go to the community news page (the same place you'd see all the new reviews coming in) on the left side of the page, right across from featured reviews, there's a list of threads. They always include the latest Rumble/Roundup, and usually include all the related club information as well.

Sticky threads have been suggested often also, but I'm not sure why they can't/haven't been implemented.

A lot of our emails end up in spam folders unintentionally as well.

City Council is SO accurate! That's really good, actually! Especially considering there is a separate Holiday Party Planning Committee...

Actually, the point of the contest tied to the Roundup was so that guesses would bump the thread to the top of the list frequently. It wasn't intended to really be too difficult.

It's a cute idea but it's a lil boring and the right answer is usually posted by the time I see the thread so I don't bother with it.

But it isn't always updated with the old stuff removed. Or at least that has been my interpretation of it.

It is typically posted on the top of the 'Community News' page but I usually skip right over that. lol Plus, it is not always updated for a day or two.

Aside from having the roundup thread stickied to the top of the forum, and changing up the picture game, is there anything else about the roundup you would change? What else would make you more likely to read it?

Instead of guessing a picture, what if guessing were based on verbal clues, and each day a new clue could be released. This would keep it really nebulous and maybe keep people guessing.

I guess what I meant was not necessarily that particular contest, but ones from Gary/etc that WERE of more import than other topics. Just that there should be a way to sticky some threads in general.

That's true. And I used to LOVE the community news page. But I feel like it's not updated very often with the pertinent threads and have found some threads that were very random being listed instead.
