Yeah that is hard to do. I got over my dicky feelings about voting once I remembered that it's my honest opinion. Now I don't vote if I think it would come across mean.

I know I HATE getting all extrememly useful then one useful, but it is what it is, and you can't please everybody! Retaliation votes are ridiculous.

the eden twitter handles do a great job of getting me to read reviews I didn't know about, and watch some awesome vids. I always try and vote with those, just need to remember to vote other times

As far as clubs go, are we talking coordinating things among our own community? I would love to do that but I just wouldn't know where to begin, ... more
The clubs would still coordinate these activities within EF, but the ideas Gary was talking about would expose more of the community to the clubs and get them involved doing more fun things that are outside of what is done now in the clubs. In other words, what can the clubs do that would appeal to a broader range of people in the EF community?

I apologize for being late to the gathering. Looks like I have some back reading to do!

@Delicious Surprise, I too have had a hard time voting honestly in a couple of cases, but I figure an honest answer is better than no answer.

I agree that retaliation votes are extremely childish. If someone gives me a bad vote I would like to know why so that I could change that part of it, but there has to be a way of blocking someone that is retaliating just to be hateful.

No need to block them. Just report them and the EF staff will take care of it.

I think all we can do is report them to the powers that be

Report them to Kristi. Email her with links and an explanation and she'll look into it.

In reference to the clubs, some of the meeting times are really difficult to meet. They are often either during, right before or right after the dinner hour. One thing I've wondered is, what happens if you're in the club and you routinely miss meetings but you're still participating in the events or writing the required reviews?

I will rate EU a lot of the times if the review was well written and keeps me reading. Once in a while I have a particular question, but I don't feel like one question should knowck it down.

I agree with DS, EU=5 stars to me! It's hard to remember that U still is good when you are striving for everyone to like your reviews. And I like to help out the newer people's ranks, if I see that they are trying hard and willing to improve I will vote EU for them.

Especially if someone is like me and wants to be recognized in the community, then they will probably strive for those EU's

I haven't had anyone do it. I would probably message them first and ask them what I could do differently, then give it to the powers.

Real quick, does anybody have anything else to add to the meeting that they'd like to talk about? We can absolutely continue the discussion we were having, but the meeting is "officially" over. Anything else brought up will be looked into.

Oh there's absolutely nothing wrong with striving to be the best every single time, I'm just saying we shouldn't get too hung up on the votes we do get.

well most of the clubs are very fluid and have no "do it or you are out" clauses, the only one I can think of are the porn club, but you dont have to watch the movies unless you are one of the assignment receivers.

I wish we could. That way it would be less work for the Zulu (kristi) because I'm sure she gets plenty of emails!

I just hate when certain people don't retaliate vote me, but I always get lower votes from them. I feel like if my reviews aren't helping you, quit reading them.

I am probably looking into it too much, but it's irritating when you get the same thing over and over.

I remember when I first started Kayla always voted mine useful instead of EU, and I made it a goal to make the reviews helpful for her. I was kind of sad because I look up to her, but like I said I probably read into it too much.

Probably would have helped if I asked her, lol

I consider any useful vote as good, not everything will be extremely useful to someone

Yup. I love to see people come back to Eden Photographers for each meeting, but I know how difficult that is - especially for people in the west since the timing of the meetings is really poor for those people. But that is part of the reason why Gary is soliciting ideas to make the clubs more available to people. The more things that are available to do, the more opportunities there are for people to get involved in the clubs.

I'm one of those people.

I will, 95% of the time, vote lower than everyone else.

To me, a review that's extremely useful is one that, after reading the review, I literally cannot think of a SINGLE question that's unanswered.

Useful means that most of it was there, but I've still got a few questions, and so on and so on.

So if you're like, "WHY IS THAT BITCH DOWNVOTING ME ALL THE DAMN TIME?!" that's why. At least, that's why, for me.

I've seen some MINDBLOWING reviews, and saying that a good review is on the same level as those? No. Those reviews, the mindblowing ones? Those are extremely useful. Anything less is just useful, for me.

Lol, I have one person that always votes useful on mine and it doesn't matter what its on. I don't sweat it though I figure thats just what she thinks and it doesn't affect my rating so eh...

See...I wouldn't worry then what people think. As long as there is a reason for your vote then thats it. If someone is worried about it they can message you and maybe ask what they could do to improve it to you.
