Not just compile, but do the work. For example, the whole mentoring program could use a better fact/information page. Also as you've said to people repeatedly, the proofreading page needs updating. We have enough experienced people here to do ... more
I see what you're getting at. I'll talk to Gary about it and see if this is something you guys can do. I just don't feel comfortable making that decision on my own, even if I like the idea.

I love the banners! Very helpful indeed.

I just feel like we don't have much to do anymore as a group. We can only make so many suggestions and EF doesn't have the resources right now to do a lot of the things that I think would improve the community for newbies and veterans alike. So, why waste time meeting (although I love chatting with you guys ) when we could do some work, even if it's slow, at least it gets done.

I think this could work out pretty good. The staff is busy enough, if we could help out with the leg work it surely would save them some time.

Unfortunately I have to run and take a quick shower before the kids go to bed. I'll be back!

I don't necessarily think the meetings are a waste. We could cut them back to once a month, but it still gives the whole community ample opportunity to have a spot they can bring up any issues they may have. I would hate to take away that opportunity entirely, even if the community doesn't take advantage of it.

Agreed, nothing wrong with giving everyone the opportunity. I don't think most folks know it's here for them.

Unfortunately, I think I have to agree with you on that.

Do you have any ideas how we could better make the community aware of these meetings? Short of sending personal messages to half the community?

I wonder if there is a way to make an email really describing what each meeting or club is about instead of a list of just when they are gonna be that week. Maybe people would read it??? Or they wont still.

I think a lot of people think you have to sign up to join in on a lot of meetings, like officially. I really dont think they know how some of them work.

Maybe a thread? Something like "Did you know that you can help improve community?" or something like that. I am just not sure how good it will work.

This could be it too. Might be folks just don't care either. Kind scratching my head with this one.

I have to wonder at some point, how much of it is us not spelling things out and how much is people not reading. I know the clubs can seem a bit like you have to sign up or something, but we've been trying really hard to make sure people know that everybody is welcome at every event.

I think it is sad but true what was said earlier since there are no prizes they just dont care. They should just love the community and want it to be the best so they should want to participate.

This poses the same problem as everything else, are people going to read it? It may be worth trying though, maybe as a sticky thread?

I think if anything at least some may read it. There will always be one or two people who do read it and take information from it and who might actually be interested in participating. Which at the end of the day is better than no one.

I could do a work shop on how to join in on the clubs and meetings. Would be the shortest work shop yet.

"Just show up and have fun" Thanks for coming. LOL!!!

You could always explain about each club and meeting during it.

This is true. I'll see about putting together a sticky post about the clubs tomorrow or early next week.

How specific do you guys think that post should be? How much detail would you include?

I would keep it pretty simple but still get the info out there. Seems like long winded post don't do that good.

What if you have each club create their introductory thread and make it sticky only in the club folder?

That is true as well. Maybe there needs to be sticky notes in just the club sections that give a run down of the club in that thread, so people can stumble upon it and know straight where to look to get more info instead of seeing a ton of threads that may not make sense to them.

So you're with Starkiller on summary, who hosts, when they meet, everybody is welcome, maybe past topics?

1. I'm a guy.
2. I have almost no hair. I'm dry before I step out of the shower.
