I definitely agree with that.

So, did you guys see how much we raised for the Eden Gives Back Christmas families? Because it was a handsome chunk of change. I just want to say "go all of you"!!!!

I thought that was awesome - I kept meaning to donate and then would forget or place an order and get down to 9 points and realize I had to build it back up.

That was incredible! $700+ will buy a lot of joy I hope! How many families are there in total? 4 or 5?

Oh man, that makes me kind of want to cry. Its so sweet, they can do so much with that much money. I remember when my house burned down as a kid and we got donations from the school we attended from the families and we were able to do some much with it buy clothing and food and tons of things most people take for granted. Thats why I do charity every year in person, every change I get because I feel like I need to pay it forward.

I wish I could have volunteered but I couldn't get any info here. There is one group that I give to but they are in another state. The FD takes donations so every kid in town gets at least one toy from Santa- who delivers them from the fire truck.

Last year was the first year I did any kind of charity on my own, thanks to the Eden Gives Back program. It was a great feeling after all was said and done, and then I got the thank you cards from the families I adopted and it made my heart melt. I don't think I can afford to do as much next year, but I do definitely want to keep doing something every year.

Usually a lot of places need help wrapping the gifts they get for familys and shelters and stuff, which is what I usually do. Go help wrap and hand out the presents. I also do a lot of work at the library for events for kids like face painting and things like that. You can do a lot without giving money that is still really helpful. My family always did the adopt a family thing growing up through my moms work, we always thought it was fun to shop for people.

No but I used to always dip my paint brushes in my coffee. Or drink my dirty paint brush water not paying attention.

I really want to start doing something as a family once the kids are a little older.

haha! oh man.

"And this is from Starkiller's 'brown period'..."

and you'll be all looking back from the afterlife and saying "No! That's just before I learned to put a lid on my coffee!"

in your biographical movie.

I didn't get a chance to update the formatted list of things we've covered and gone over, although I wish I had. Does anybody have anything to bring up now that we've been chatting for a little while?

Has anything been looked into about being able to opt out of the catalog? I know alice says she uses them for her affiliate flyers but I still think Id like to be able to opt out of getting so many

Hahahaha, that made me laugh, lol.

And it also makes me think of this one episode of Dead Like Me where Daisy has to go reap an artist. He died when the creepy little guys swapped his water for turpentine, and refused to move on because Daisy took one of his paintings.

Hahhaa I think my mentor Dorian Cleavenger told me he did that before and tons of flies kept appearing out of no where surrounding his painting before he picked it up and smelt it and realized what he did and why it smelt like coffee. Its just too easy to do.

Well - this is probably a really small thing - but sometimes I wonder what I can do about making the forum a better place. I mean - I try to look for newbies and answer their questions and I am starting to try to put together some answers on reviews, etc. to help folks. I'm about to go back through the vibrators thread and find a couple of folks I helped way back when and just see how they're doing now.

But I wish sometimes that there was someone saying, "Hey...we could use you to do this.." if you know what I mean.

I think that JR has mentioned it, but it's something that I think would be a great idea. I'll keep trying to push for a way to opt out too.
