To be very honest, I have no idea what kind of crickets they are. I haven't even seen them. I just know that I've heard them, and so has my hubby, so I know I'm not crazy lol.

I'm not sure who's still around, but I'd like to talk about Eden Gives Back real quick.

Stormy is putting together a fundraiser that we're going to do for a few weeks in October hopefully. After that, I think it's the holiday fund raiser times. Gary and I were talking about the holiday things, and the two ideas are the adopt-a-family like we did last year, or the toys for tots. Do people have a preference for which? Or should we try to combine them both and have people choose one or the other?

i like the adopt a family idea. the kiddos aint the only ones who need love!

I havent been here too long so I was kind of confused on how this works last time there was a meeting. What exactly is it that happens? With the school one everyone took their own school supplies to certain places on their own correct?

Right. Last year we adopted families who needed help. There were a few Thanksgiving families, and a few families adopted for Christmas. We had fund raisers and people were able to provide things for families that wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

Yes. When the point change happened things didn't get explained very well until after it happened. At this point, we can still cancel gift cards that you make from your points for donating.

I understand how the premise works but is it a point drive like kindred asked or is it another individual do on your own report back type thing?I think that is where my confusion is.

Oh! Both kind of. You'd do all the shopping and stuff on your own, but there'd be a point drive here to help fund it.

With the adopt a family, contributors had to locate a family to sponsor first. Ten points were donated and EF contributed as well. The cash value was sent to the contributor to purchase items for that family.

Ahhh ok. My mom used to do that all the time when we were younger. Wed get a list of who was in the family and go buy them clothes and toys and stuff.

Your probably right, but it seems that participation always get low during the summer months. It should pick up as winter comes, that will be pretty soon judging by the leaves around here. Th maples are changing fast and other trees are already dropping them.

Blah so glad I dont have to go through winter anymore. I hate snow. I love fall though. I miss rain. Im indifferent about los angeles weather tbh.
