I do have a couple of announcements to make:

-If you feel like you have a particular skill or talent and would like to host a workshop, message me about it! I'm looking to showcase our talented crafters and artists and we can't all be experts at everything! This could be a particular project. Keep in mind that we have a lot of beginners out there, so be sure to choose projects that are easy to learn. It's even better if they can be tailored to suit everyone's level.

-For the next few months, we will be focusing on gifts to make for the holiday season! What's better than handmade gifts for your loved ones? Not only is it thrifty, but it's also hand made!

That's something that's super easy to do, also! It can be as simple as putting a charm on a chain or earring wires, or complex beading work! Other things could be personalized wine glasses, decoupaged notebooks, etc.

The only thing I can think of that I could do is origami, but I think doing a workshop on that would be a nightmare lol

I plan on doing a toy bag workshop. I had my sewing machine collecting dust until a couple of weeks ago. I'm still an advanced beginner when it comes to basic techniques, but I can pull off intricate applique designs. I started making some awesome bags to throw my toys in.

And, I mean, there really aren't any cases big enough for things like a Hitachi, but it makes a much more discreet storage solution and is wonderful for travel.

This workshop will be great for any method of sewing. The ones I've made are padded, so they're a bit more complex than non-padded ones, but they're still very simple.

hmmm... I'll have to consider it then. I don't know how I would explain the folds though. I may have to learn how to make a video.

It would have totally made sense for me to take a picture of them so I could show everyone. I'll remember that next time.

It was a really neat color at first, a really dark blue. It looked icky when it finally mostly washed out.

So, what's everyone's experience with sewing overall?

As I said before, I'm an advanced beginner. I can do certain things, but I haven't gotten into making anything complex. That takes practice and I need time!

I've also started making little plush toys out of felt. Another workshop for that will come in the near future! They're super adorable and also make wonderful gifts.

I've sewed pillows and tote bags, clothing like aprons and dresses...I like to say that I'm mediocre, but I'm actually better than I let on. HAHA!

I'd call myself an advanced beginner as well. I can handle most patterns and all that jazz, but I don't feel confident doing anything very complex. I figured out how to easily make bags, and actually did a workshop on it.
