I'd say you have to have both. You start out with the cookie doe, then move to the cookies. Best if cookies are straight out of the oven and not cooked a whole lot and dipped in milk.

Both! I love the batter and dough too though. You can buy pasteurized eggs for peace of mind if you are really that concerned.

My partner will bake cookies and he always makes 2 batches... One that becomes cookies and one that stays dough for me.
