The secret is, make some, convince your friends it's delicious, give them some grains, then if you ever get lazy and stop keepign them, you can hit up your friends for a re-share!
Good idea!

For the additions to cheese. To avoid mold, make sure the additions are crispy dry.

And to everyone else who shared info! I'm going to have to read back through this later.
Glad you could come, Zasha, and I hope to see you next month!

Thank you very much for the lesson! I'm excited that sushi is coming up next! That's something that I have a lot more experience with, so I'll be much more helpful and much less like a deer in the headlights. =)
Sushi? Awesome!

Making sure this is on the last page:

Okay everybody, this has been a really awesome meeting, and I learned a heck of a lot of new things to try!

If you want kefir grains, just look up "kefir share" and find somebody friendly. If you want yogurt or buttermilk cultures, just buy a fresh bottle from the store and get to work!

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday the 15th of April, and we're scheduled to take an in-depth look at how to make sushi! But let's all stay tuned for details.

I have made new EF friends at these last two cooking events & wanted to encourage anyone who might be reading this after the fact to join in on the next one! Everyone is so friendly & the time flies. Plus, no need to be intimidated, I wasn't the only person at the last one who had never made bread before & I never felt left out or that my questions were dumb.

I finally had some time to read… I also liked the continued use of Mr. Kristi and have actually called my husband that!! LOL!!

This was awesome and I wish I was here! I'm going to check my local health food store and then go from there in search of grains. I can't wait to try it and make the pancakes too. I'll be back with pictures!! Also the sushi cooking event sounds like fun! I have made it a couple times before and never did again... Time to find my mat and buy sushi for the event!!

Thank you Antipova for the recipe, all the info and taking the time to take pictures and share with us!! Also, thank you to everyone that asked questions, was very helpful to me.
