We have a mandolin to grate cheese. I like them better than a normal cheese grater.

A huge thanks to Vaccinium for taking over this awesome club, even if it is just temporary.

You rock!

Sorry I missed this meeting, I only just got home.

@ Vaccinium:

Gorgeous pictures throughout, not that I'm surprised about that. I might actually have to try fish pie once. Love your crust at the end.

Of course she got it for a wedding present in like 1970 so good luck to me finding another one...
Ooh, keep an eye out at some thrift shops and on eBay. My mom keeps managing to find like, 50 year old toasters lol.

You could always check Ebay and antique stores. You never know.

I think my next kitchen purchase (after a toaster - I know, who the hell doesn't own a toaster?!) might be a mandolin.

I shop the thrift stores for older cooking stuff, always the best stuff hidden there that the young people think is old junk cause its not electronic!

Thanks, Sam.

I love doing this, but I just can't handle two clubs right now.

See! I told you it was better than you thought it would be. The veggie/vegan option I talked about is also quite good and might go over better with some people.

I'm planning on furnishing my future home with things that have been garbage picked, grabbed from thrift stores/resale shops, or purchased from Ikea lol.

We don't own a toaster, but rather a toaster oven. They can be used for so much more than a toaster.

I need to find an old hand held egg beater, I left mine at home in New Zealand and I hate the electric one

That sounds like my house. Seriously, everything in here came from Ikea or a thrift store.

Mostly Ikea.

We use it a lot for reheating leftovers that should be crisp. Microwave ovens don't make things like fried items or pizza very texture-positive, and ovens take too damned long to heat up.

Thanks to Vaccinium for the recipe and to everyone else for the fun had! I really need to get to work on some reviews, so I'm heading out now. G'night, everyone! xoxo

I have a good chunk of furniture already. I just snagged a really neat entertainment center from the curb a few weeks ago.

We were using ours because we didn't have a working oven at the time lol.

you should trash pick around here, lots of people moving in and out and they leave furniture behind all the time! there was a beautiful entertainment center the other day but we have no room for it

Thankfully I do not own very much in the way of furniture. My partner and I are in the process of combining households right now and it would be very difficult if we both had full apartments of furniture. I moved in to his place - he's already got everything

....except a cheese grater

Ooh, you'll have to keep me informed when we move. I'd make that drive.

Lol. When we started combining our stuff it wasn't so bad. He's still got stuff at his parents because we live with mine while we're saving for a house. I was impressed when we combined our movie collections. No repeats, with almost 200 movies.
