If something happens (like an outbreak of swine flu or E.Coli outbreak in spinach crops), how do you react? How long do you stay away from that specific food (if you do)?

I guess we see what part of the country is affected. Then buy organic. Freezing and cooking should kill it in veggies. I am very careful with meat regardless.

most of our veggies we get from our garden, or are frozen and cooked. Anything else we would stay away from until they say the problem is solved. But we have not had to worry about it yet.
