Sweetie, no one was seriously suggesting that we send pornography. It's also strictly forbidden by military regulations and would be confiscated before it ever made it to a solider's hands, so no worries there. I debated long and hard (harhar) about sending things like Maxim and FHM and Cosmo and magazines that would be similar and I decided against it because I don't think that is something most people would be interested in. I'm looking for magazines that inspire and/or make them think and to keep them in touch with what's going on stateside. Life, Time, Sports Illustrated, gaming magazines, car magazines...those kinds of things.

All points will be spent toward magazines with the intent to break even, no one at Eden is going to profit from this.

I love your enthusiasm and I appreciate your support!

LOL He sounds like a sweet man; I do have information up for people who want to send care packages. Anyone who is interested in donating books can do so through give2thetroops.org and you can find the info on care packages here: Care Packages.

Awesome! I know every little bit helps and I want to do so much more! I've started going through things I own to see what I can donate, too.

Thank you, Stormy, for letting everyone know that sex pornography is actually strictly forbidden from being in the possession of our troops overseas. Please, please, please only send food, toiletries, books, cards, socks, etc. It's similar to what a mother would send her college student in many ways. Just remember that it can't be perishable or something that would get destroyed in extreme heat or take forever to get there.

When I served overseas I was surprised how many of my fellow troops got caught up in soap operas on the armed forces network. There is a hunger for anything from back home and there are people from all cross-sections of society serving, so there are those who would enjoy gossip rags too.

Any suggestions on the gossip rags? 'Cause I don't read them...maybe like People or something like that?

Hi I have been having some issues with my computer but I wanted to post a few exerpts from letters that we have recieved from the troops showing how much these things mean to them.

"I don’t think you have any idea how nice it is getting a package even if
Its from somebody you have never met, it is a huge morale booster knowing that somebody is thinking
About you, and makes being away from home not seem as bad"

"You have no idea what those packages mean to me, since throughout this deployment I have rarely received anything. My wife was out on her own deployment (just couldn’t stay away from those Navy girls) and couldn’t really send me any care packages, and then my family doesn’t really have the money to be sending anything out here (I’m the second oldest out of seven), so your package was like the third box I’ve gotten out here. It is good to know that there are people out there who still care about all of us even after we’ve gone halfway around the world, and for all that and more I wanted to thank you."

"We received 6 boxes of supplies from you today in the
mail (WOW!!!!). Thank You all so much for taking the time to support a
platoon of knuckle draggers out here in the heart of the fight. It
really means a lot to us to get support from everyone back home. By far,
you have sent us the largest amount of goods! "The Boys" had a great
time getting into the boxes and deciding who wanted what and everyone
went away happy and thankful.
Again, Thank You so much for sending the boxes and everything in
them. It really does make a difference to us and reminds us of what we
are doing this for!"

These things and just letting them know that they are appriciated and not forgotten mean so much!!

I just sent Sam an e-mail with my gift card code for the modest amount in points I've been able to scrape together (only $10 ). I'm sad that I don't have time to earn more points lately, but I'm hoping what I sent will at least help a little. Thanks so much for organizing this!

Thank you for your contribution, it's true what they say---every little bit helps and even if it were only five cents, it would still be more than enough to make a difference.
