its best to just have the chocolate milk, which contains much needed calcium!

LOL! My daughter with CP lives in the water. She cannot really keep herself afloat in the deep end but she is all over the shallow end like a fish.

What about a walking challenge? We walk everywhere because, well, I dont drive. But when I tell people where we walk they look at me like i have 2 heads. People are so dependent on vehicles they forget to walk.

how about something ... more
I walk 2 miles a day. I live 1.1 miles from my mother in law and I walk to see her then walk home. Except when its raining...which it hasn't in a loooong time! Lol

Great tips! Also, I water down my juices when I do decide to partake in them. It makes the expensive juice last longer, I get more water in my diet, and there's portionally less sugar.
That's a great tip. You can also add some sliced citrus like lemon or orange to flavor water so it's not so boring.

I LOVE to swim, but I have no where to do it. Also my children are small enough that I can't do it safely without swapping supervision duty with somebody else. Since I am a single parent, that makes it really tough. I used to swim for hours a day when it was warm enough, now I am lucky to swim 10 times in one summer.

Wine has a lot of health benefits, as long as it's in moderation

My goal for May is to be nicer to myself with more positive self talk when I look in the mirror naked. And to eat more colors of the rainbow and I do not mean Skittles I mean veggies. Now that our snow is nearly melted I am looking forwrd to getting my bike out and hiking again.

there is that new flavor thing called MIO that my husband has been using, that is pretty good. I prefer ice water, so I always keep some in the freezer

Even better, go for some Ovaltine, you can buy it in chocolate and it really is very tasty with hardly any sugar, on top of that you not only get the nutrients from the milk, but also the nutrients provided by the ovaltine itself!

Just make sure you don't OVERDO it w/ the weighing. They say it's actually better for weight loss to weigh yourself LESS, believe it or not. I think we get too caught up on the numbers. Sometimes, the weight is redistributing - becoming muscle & not fat, so we might look waaaaaaaay better and have lost a couple dress sizes or whatever, but not necessarily have lost what seems like a proportionate amount of weight. Also, we all hit plateaus during weight loss where the lbs will come off slooooow as hell, but, eventually, things pick back up again - just like with any other endeavour. I, personally, having a history of eating disorders, am not terribly fond of scales b/c I end up obsessing over the numbers & compulsively weighing myself 80 million times a day, but I don't think it's a bad thing for most people. I just think we do it too often, at times. I think the recommended amount of times to weigh yourself is once or twice a week, max. don't quote me on that though. anyway, regardless, i'll be happy to smack you upside the head when you forget to buy one as long as you'll do the same for me when i forget to make the dr's appts i've been meaning to make for weeks.

Same here, we all have new bikes and plan to go riding with the kids more often. There is a nice set of ponds close by with bike/hiking trails all around them.
