It’s time for another meeting of the Eden Photographers Club! For November's Eden Photographers meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, November 15, at 7:00 EST, we will be covering, well, a topic to be determined. The voting for what the topic will be for this meeting will remain open through Sunday, November 13th (see link to vote), so I'll announce the topic on Monday, November 14th. Regardless of what the topic is, I'll go through a tutorial on how this topic influences your photography and how to use the topic to your advantage.

Also, remember to bring one photo that you would like to post during our meeting that everyone will critique. Critiquing and being critiqued improve you as a photographer, and I'm hoping we can begin focusing on critiquing during these meetings as much as the tutorials I present.

Also, two EdenFantasys gift cards will be awarded during the course of the meeting.

Finally, as usual, this is your chance to take ownership of the Eden Photographers Club. It is where you will be able to express you opinions on where you want to see the club headed, ideas for new activities, and topics you would like to see discussed. Of course, like all EF meetings, it will be a fun and free-wheeling opportunity to socialize with other EFers.

So, please join us for the meeting. I’ve you’ve attended before or have yet to make it to a meeting, everyone is welcome!

OK, everyone, the people have spoken. The topic of this meeting will be framing.

Rather than the framing that houses the pictures on your wall, framing is a photographic technique that uses other objects to draw focus to your subject and add context to your photo.

As Starkiller87 mentioned, we are doing photo critiquing during this meeting as well, so come armed with a photo or two to post towards the end of the meeting so that we can all critique it.

As I've mentioned umpteen (huh...spell check didn't flag umpteen...weird) times, critiquing helps both the one being critiqued as well as the one doing the critiquing become better photographers.

i'll be here! any word on what happened with the calendars? what pics were chosen for each categories? i missed the final score on that...

The photos that were chosen were the ones that got the most votes. You can see the polls here.

Actually, at this point, the calendar is out of my hands. EdenFantasys has all the photos (laid out beautifully by Emma (Girl With Fire)) and dates and they are going to be putting the calendar together and printing it.

Phew! Microsoft word just ate my meeting posts, but I managed to rescue them by sending the file to another computer, opening it in Notepad, C&Ping the garbledygook it spit out, emailing it back to myself, and reformatting it.

It's never easy.

Why do you always have so much trouble with the posts? Everyones computers seem to give them hell. Maybe because Im a computer nerd and have known dos before the age of 5, I dont have this problem, lol.

It's something different every time. This time, Word locked my document for some reason, and I couldn't open it on this computer. Previously my computer blue-screened right before a meeting and another time the computer locked up just as the meeting was about to start.

Have you wiped your partition than reinstalled windows? Like just restart your computer to factory settings. Youd have to save everything to separate disks or whatever but it might be worth it if youre having so much trouble.

Actually, no. Aside from the hard drive and motherboard dying at the same time on my previous computer, these are really the only issues I've had. Kinda spooky that they tend to occur around these meetings, though.
