Nice, I'll have to keep that in mind then. We're house hunting right now, and it'd be really awesome to end up with a space that would let me have a dark room, even if I didn't use it all the time.

I just wanted to make certain everyone understands that I am merely the host/manager of this club, and by no means am I dictator-for-life. If there is something you want to bring up, please do not hesitate to do so. After all, this is our club, not my club. So far, we have the Eden Photographers Blog, the subforum I mentioned earlier, and the Tumbler site on which photos will be posted for everyone to critique whatever photos are submitted. Although I think this is a pretty good array of resources, please feel free to suggest ideas for the club, whether it be in these meetings, in the areas I just listed, or anything else. So, any ideas?

I think it'd be great to see some basic tutorials/lessons in composition and things like that (like an explanation of the rule of thirds, etc.)

My husband and I shared 2 Optimater's yesterday and my nose was numb. 2 beers all to myself and I am a really cheap date!

It would be great to go over these again. And it helps explain why some pictures just seem to come out better than others.

The rule of thirds is actually coming in three weeks (after a lesson in critiquing and understanding the histogram (in digital, of course). After that, some more basic photographic principles are on the docket (although they can be moved), and then 5 months worth (weekly articles) of composition articles.

Believe me, I'm trying for that. The articles are the best way for me to facilitate that. I want to try to have everyone on somewhat equal footing before we move on to the compositional stuff.
