Thanks. We think it is pretty amazing too.

I agree with BBW on the whole expensive hobby BS. After looking at our camera and all our lenses, I am almost agreeing with my husband that we need a new $700 lens. Grrr. I have been saying, "No, no, no!" to him for 3 years. I am starting to move more toward the middle on the issue and I don't like that.

As if being a toy collector isn't pricey enough. But I do have to admit that you more knowledgeable photographers take amazing pictures! As opposed to my novice self with my standard point-and-shoot camera.

You can get decent pictures with a point and shoot. The first set of pictures I submitted were with a point and shoot. It just takes creative angling and playing with the settings and flash (I almost never use a flash).

I'm ordering a new lens and underwater camera housing next month, which will put my camera equipment value somewhere around $7500. It's definitely an expensive hobby, although mine is quasi-professional, so I can justify it easier.

There aer P&S cameras for under 400 that can easily get you professional quality photos. There are limits, of course, and better cameras will yield more consistent results, but there are good cameras within many peoples' price range.

If I were going to spend about $400, I'd try to grab something like

this

or this

or this

I just don't have the money to do those things. I'd really LOVE something like this but I'm not that much of a dreamer!

I took this photo probably five years ago during autumn up in Mount Rainier National Park. Most of the red and yellow colors are from autumnal huckleberries, and this particular hike is one of my favorites because of how peaceful and beautiful it is. In fact, I feel so at peace among these huckleberries, that this is how I came up with my Eden name (Vaccinium is the genus of huckleberries)

I love these. GREAT pictures! The city scene at the top looks so surreal, like you photographed a model of buildings. I love it. I also really like the seasons reflected in the bridge. Beautiful representation of all four seasons. If I saw that print somewhere, I'd probably pick it up.

Slynch... that is a stunningly beautiful and dazzling photo!!!

I do not know how to add pictures here... I am a Luddite. But as you all know, I live in The Middle Kingdom (China)... and recently posted two slide shows about what I see on a daily basis.

If you are interested... check them out!!! Literally. Lots of kite flying and the cops and Taking a hike through the city

I was so excited that I was able to post the photos posted, I forgot to include the details.

1. "Mini Madison" - Taken in downtown Madison looking south toward the Monona Terrace, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I did edit the photo to look more like a miniature.

2. "Foggy Morning" - Taken near Madison on a misty November morning.

3. "Yoyo at Night" - Taken at the county fair. It's a 10 second exposure of one of the carnival rides.

4. "Bridging the Seasons" - Combination of 4 photos taken from the same spot at the same park.

5. "Wisconsin Barn in Black and White" - Beautiful example of a weathered old barn in rural Wisconsin.

I have many more photos that I can show you if you are interested. Send me a note here on EF and I will send you the links. I also have prints of some of the photos if anyone is interested.

Baby bunny's.

Found them in the back yard. I'm thinking about two days old.

BABY BUNNIES! Too cute!

(My medium dog found and ate one recently and then dragged what was left onto the porch. I was so horrified and started screaming. Couldn't she have captured like a mouse, rat, mole, or something useful rather than an innocent baby bunny??? It left me feeling like that dog was a murderer. Poor lil baby.)
