Who do you use to host your site?

Contributor: Sammi Sammi
So, I've decided that I'm going to actually get a domain and move off of blogspot. I've done a little bit of looking, but a lot of the places I've thought to do this through (like godaddy.com) say that they don't host anything remotely adult.

My question is, who do you use? How happy are you with them?

Some use ASmallOrange (Carrie Ann), some use GoDaddy.

I personally host with link . Prices are ridiculously cheap, I've already been okay'ed in terms of adult content (just ask and she'll clear you), and to date, I've only had a a couple hours of downtime in the past year. She answers all questions within twenty-four hours too. She doesn't do auto-back-up like GoDaddy does, but she's amazing.

The host I use for my other sites is ridiculously expensive, but they have top notch security and customer service. I haven't found one better in that regard. If you're interested in spending on the high end, message me and I'll point you at them. They tolerate sexually explicit fanfiction, but who knows about toy reviews, you'd have to ask them. My review blog is still on blogspot, looking pretty darn abandoned at this point.

We bought our domain name from GoDaddy, but our webhost is HostGator. You don't have to use the same company for your domain as for the hosting.
Anyway, we've been with HG for about 7 years now with our non-adult site, and they've been awesome so when we decided to start up the blog we just stayed with them. They have no problem with adult sites at all.

I use Winning Hosting and it's been absolutely wonderful.

Name.com is who sold me my domain.

I used to use GoDaddy but they were pretty awful so I switched.

I've been trying to scope this out as well. Do a lot of people use wordpress.org in conjunction with having their sites hosted?

I'm having such a hard time choosing. Crashwithme is super affordable for me in my college-poorness, but I have no concept of how much bandwidth or space I need. HostGator looks really newbie friendly and amazing, but costs a lot more.

I would start with the most basic package. If you need it you can always upgrade, but there is no sense in paying for more than you really need.

All of my domain names are with Namecheap and all my hosting is done through Surpass.

For domain registars, I've been with GoDaddy (transferred in less than a year due to poor customer service) and 1&1 (transferred in less than a year for the same reasons as GoDaddy).

I had my own site before and I was with hostgator. They were good. Right now I'm just using blogspot. I'll probably switch to hostgator in a few months or so.
