#EdenLit Meeting - (01.2013) Change Is Inevitable But Welcome!

Eden Lit January Meeting (01/14/2013) at 3 pm est

Holy Shit! It's January again! Did you know that this February we will be celebrating our third birthday? So we should celebrate this milestone by trying new things, discussing interesting stuffs, and just having fun.

Let's try something completely new and totally kick ass to sort of jump start the new year. Let's meet on Monday the 14th at 3pm EST and write a short collaborative story about that first blush of new love: how it feels, what it does, how crazy it can make us act. We will come up with some silly main character names and then put them through their paces. These characters can write silly poetry, gaze longingly across a crowded room at each other, or act on their lust and jump each other wildly....whatever strikes our fancy!

After we write we'll compile it into a coherent story and publish it on SexIs for the community to read. Doesn't that sound like fun? Sure it does!

In other news Lickable Lollie shared with us a few poems that are both sweet and terribly poignant called Roses.

Where I'm From
Angry
Fierce
The Bar

Check it out and let her know what you think.

We have a whole new year looming in front of us and we have many different things we can do with this year and our club. If you have thought about attending a meeting this month would be the meeting to attend. We'll get all creative, messy and just have a little literary fun with our bad selves.

The most eye-rolling goofy romance character name I've ever heard is actually a "real" character. St. John Rivers from Jane Eyre... The name always sounds like it should belong to the main man in one of those bodice-ripper romance novels.

Beau Thibodeaux

Scarlet Theriot

(I'm attracted to Creole and Cajun names.)

Sounds like a shipping lane St. John Rivers! I love me some creole as well! Southern Belle names are just a hoot.

Lemon St. Germaine for example....

Hells yeah. That woman was an idol for me throughout my teen years, but I couldn't compete with her storied conquests if I tried. Oops! The vixen turned out to be a good girl.

Every time I see something awesome, I automatically look for a like button, but it's not there. The empty space taunts me. It taunts, Stormy.

No, actually I just remember that I'm not on facebook.

LOL Admittedly, Facebook drives me insane and I really only use it to keep in touch with professional contacts in the industry. See what new things they're working on and stuff like that. Everyone on my list is either in the industry or a member of EF.

I'm from a different generation of "the interwebs". I cut my teeth on webcrawler and AOL 1.0 so some of the social media stuff available these days really makes me wonder about our society.

In the same breath, I recognize their necessity and their roles in society.

I mostly use it to keep in touch with loved ones that live far away.

WOW what a great set of names! OK I will compile a list for today and we can work with them.

Ashley the game is a writing exercise of sorts. During our Meeting we are going to write about new love...that first rush. When we are done we'll post the work in our post for SexIs magazine for the community and the wider world to read!

I cannot wait!!

Welcome to the Eden Lit Club's January 2013 Meeting!

I trust everyone is warm and this year is looking pretty darn great. WOW we've been around for 3 years now. We are toddling around and learning to speak in full sentences!

Since this is the new year I decided to throw out the stuffy old ways and just kinda go nutz with our bad selves. I'd like to actually take everything we've learned and write something during the meeting. Doesn't that sound like fun?

OK, the rules are simple:
*Follow the topic but feel free to interpret it however you want.
*No surprise rape scenes...these are silly literary devices and here at EF we recognize that rape is not a joking matter.
*Be as sexual as you like, or as non sexual as you like.
*For this story you can leave cliff hangers but since everyone will be writing simultaneously keep it general.

For this first story I thought we could go with the first love sort of romantic feel. Maybe it will be a retrospective or even a first hand glimpse of what first love feels like.
For the first 30 minutes or so we'll free write. Then in the last 30 minutes or so we'll put the pieces together and form our story.
I'll post the story along with the author's names in the SexIs article for the month.

Here's a list of the names we came up with:
Champagne Dellarose
Abigail Chantilly
Sasha Deveraux
Scarlet Theriot
Lemon St. Germaine
Jules Dubois
Georgia Rineheart
Scarlet O'Grady

William St.Clair
Marshal August
Billy Washington
St. John Rivers
Beau Thibodeaux
Dean Lancaster
Drake Shepherd
Tristan Beaucamp

Feel free to choose among them we'll iron out the details later!

They really do. The more I experiment with material the faster I learn. I'll only go for that material if I LOVE the toy. Even then it's a MAYBE!

I'll color what I post outside of the story just so it's easier for me to compile the thing later! Any questions before we begin?
