That was a neat poem!

i recommend counseling for that. if you find a good person to talk with weekly they can help you work through anger issues and get to the root of what causes it, learning healthier ways to deal with it.

Haha, that's awesome. I grew up learning how to drive in the snow, so I know how to do it well enough to keep myself out of trouble for the most part. The best tip that nobody ever seems to follow when driving in snow? Slow the fuck down!! lol.
NO kidding!!! The other one is TAP the fucking breaks don't stand on them!

I really enjoyed that story. I struggle a lot with my appearance, bouncing back and forth between "you're god damn right I have an amazing and unique body" and "what the hell where did this jiggling come from???" and it's nice, for lack of a better word, to know that I'm not alone in my bouncing.

I appreciate the advice I've been involved with AA/Alanon and had counseling for many years before having kids. I have MANY different ways of dealing with my anger issues other than burying them to have them explode later, which is the cycle in my family. We are working on sawing through these damnable chains...and we will succeed.

Yeah, we end up with both ends of the spectrum really. Some people slow down waaaaaay more than they probably should, and some people don't slow down anywhere near enough. It's funny that the bridges are getting careened over, because those are the most likely to ice over first and be more difficult to stop on.

I learned in a car without ABS so I have to tap. Which I think means, whenever I have ABS again, they'll be less likely to kick in I think? But oh well, better to be trained without, I guess.

Did anyone else appreciate Unfilfilled's advice on cold remedies? I did not know that sugar could compromise your immune system! Learn something new every day!

I've only once had a car with antilock breaks engage them, and it scared the crap out of me to suddenly be fighting with my break pedal, lol. I knew to keep firm pressure, but I grew up driving on cars without ABS so I'm so used to gently pumping the breaks that it was weird to have the car doing it for me lol.

I liked it too. Not something i can relate to as easily, but any window into what makes you all tick is a big help. *smiles*

I don't have Body Dysmorphia, but I still need to learn how to accept my faults. I hate the obsession with thinness in American culture so much. I absolutely hate going to the doctor because even if I have a cold in November it's blamed on my weight. ALWAYS.

I haven't read that one yet... I'm all dumb and old-fashioned and "my body can handle this without crutches!" (Except when I need antibiotics or vaccinations, I sign right up for those.) But cold medicines? Meh, I'm just toughening myself up.

I'm pretty similar. I try to only take cold medications if I absolutely can't get to sleep any other way. I like to try and sleep off my sicknesses.

Holy cow can I relate...I got a splinter in my finger that was dug in under a callous so I went to the doctor and got a 20 minute lecture from his nurse about my weight and blood pressure! I was like WTF I just need this damn splinter removed and cure the infection that is setting in. I know I am over weight but I am not even borderline diabetic nor am I morbidly obese....Sigel was NOT a happy guy when I left the office depressed and near tears. He has to go with me for every appointment just so that everything I have wrong doesn't get blamed on my weight. It's crazy!

LOL I take them only if I have reached my limit and I have a stupidly high tolerance for pain...high enough that my doctor has fits with me for waiting to tell him about pain I'm having.

I kinda went on a rant in my version of December chill but I suspect there are a few people here who could relate!

My mom had major surgery last year, and the doctor (very reasonably) was like "we're only going to medicate you down to a 2 on a scale of 1-10, because some pain is natural so you know what your body's doing. So how much pain do you feel?"

And she was like "well to be honest, I don't even think it's at a 2 right now."

Doctors were all dumbfounded, her anesthetics had totally worn off and there were slices through her skin, and she was like "well, it's not like it hurts or anything."

They Know Where You Live was a challenge from Sigel. He gave me a title and a slim outline and then turned me loose. He loves the story, and is curious what you guys think.

Oh yeah. But I like Black Friday. It is the only day of the year where shopping is a full contact sport. I never reaally have anything I m really after, it is just fun to watch the chaos. I do disagree with all the commeexilization and how early it is starting.

I loved it, really. I thought it was well done, and an interesting story line that while not the first of its kind still managed to not be a huge cliche. Kudos to Sigel for giving you the outline

MMmhmmm that's me...I had a MASSIVE yeast and bladder infection and they kept insisting I needed pain meds but I really didn't notice the pain. I was triggered to go to the hospital by the fever. I have had walking pneumonia twice without every running a fever so I know it's serious if I spike one.

LOL I can just see you sitting in a bird's nest box totally doing the Walmart commentary for the day! In fact I would probably pay to see that....

Well both my guys are real critical when they read what I write so I have to be very creative or they will tell me that it was "meh".

I'm overweight, but not diabetic at all. I'm not even prediabetic. I get tested, like, every other month because of my mom. She once made me do an urine test because I was peeing a lot. So obviously, I had diabetes! No, it turned out I was just really dehydrated. I get dehydrated really quickly, so yeah. Other than my thyroid and a cyst problem, my health is overall okay. Hell, my blood pressure is actually slightly below average.

I sometimes lie that I'm okay just to avoid going to the doctor only to get a lecture. I'm tired of it.

OK guys we do actually have some things we need to discuss about the club and the book project.

First of all, for those of you who have work going into the book. Do you want a chance to go over the work in question or do you think it's ready for the editors?
