Isn't this exciting?? I'd like to start off with a sort of introduction, just a short blurb about who you are, and what brings you here.

I love to write, and have for most of my life. Reading and learning to write have been passions of mine that for many years had no outlet. I am here to show what I can do, read some great stories written by some amazingly talented people and have fun.

I have always loved to read, and my writing was an offshoot of my reading, though I often lack the focus to do longer pieces, there is something about writing that can be intoxicating. I'm here to see if I can't develop my writing style more, and to have fun writing new things.

I started "officially" writing just before my 50th birthday. Something about that milestone gave me pause, and got me reflecting on my life. So I began to write it all down. People seemed to like what I was writing, which really surprised me because I didn't even realize I could write. I'm here to read others work, of course, and possibly broaden my writing horizons.

Over the last 10 years I have been gradually making more and more time to write. I really enjoy writing, though most of what I have been doing so far has been story telling about things in my life. I have recently began writing some fiction stuff to entertain myself.

I think it's a pretty neat idea. I think it'll help to focus what we're all writing on rather than having everybody write about all sorts of different things. Not that there's anything wrong with that by any means, but I think it's neat to see how a group of people run with the same topics.

A number of you have mentioned reading... that is something I have never made much time for in my life (I have always spend my free time working on music related things), and kind of puts me in an odd place when I try to write.
