I'm almost out of stuff, I swear!

On today's date (October 24th) throughout history, some interesting things have happened. Things like Western Union completing the first transcontinental telegraph line in 1861, the George Washington bridge is dedicated in 1931, the United Nations being created in 1945, Truman declaring the war with Germany officially over in 1951, Richard Burton buys Elizabeth Taylor a 69 carat ring to make up for a fight they had in a restaurant in 1969, and the Concord jet makes its final flight in 2003.

You never forget that smell. There's a pig farm on the drive to my mom and I can always smell it.

Goodness. Way to be all talkin' like I still have to inhabit my body while I'm decomposing, song.

*high five* We just watched TDR the other night. And I caught Natural Born Killers on one of the movie channels the other night. I've been desensitized by the internet, a long time ago and having worked in a haunted house, I can look past the gore and see the makeup.

I know right...

Mine is 1 carat, and any bigger and I'd think it was super gaudy.

I don't have a ring, but I'd say the bigger the better! But, it wouldn't be practical...

Might have to get it and give it a try.
Unfortunately Jollies went out of business. I don't think you can get either anymore, except maybe used.

I think I'm more sensitive than most, especially because I do avoid that kind of media for the most part. My boyfriend and I were totally thinking about being Mickey and Malloy this year but I got discouraged coz only one person out of the many I talked to even knew what I was talking about

MMM, diamonds. Though 69 carats seems...just a smidgen expressive. Gotta stop at 50, personally. (kidding.)

It's just an old movie...I'm not surprised. Shit, they're playing music I listened to as a kid on the oldies stations these days. Hmph.

Mine is a carat and from 1973. It was the ring my dad bought my mom for $500 in 1973 and it is valued at least $2,000 today. They divorced 25 years ago. I have been wearing the ring for 5 years. I need to get it sized down since my weight loss.

Damn 69 carat ring???

I would like it if it wasn't diamond. I don't care for them...

Now, give me a 69 carat sapphire or emerald and I will be yours!
