I was worried about that too, but I like all the categories. We could put them all with other, but I worry about somebody carving a super awesome pumpkin that everybody loves and the super awesome makeup job gets no love either. That's of course just an example. Jaimes and I are still going back and forth over it lol.

I guess the moral of the story is we'll find out (if we do them all) if there are too many and adjust it for next year lol.

I know a lot of people who use patterns and suck at it. It doesnt make for a good pumpkin all the time

You can get around that by having the them take a picture next to something specific, like the EF logo, etc.

We could very strongly encourage people to add a card to the picture with their screen name or @EF written on it or something like that.

Great ideas! I might have to do another video, maybe burn a witch at the stake or something. I loved the writing last year and the toy costumes.

Ok, I've got all your opinions on categories, now how about run time? Last year we left the last week of October for voting. We can do the same thing this year, or we can have the contest run until Halloween and then run for a week for voting.

What do you guys think?

I think either way would be fine but I like running it till Halloween and then voting.

I'd leave voting for the last week of October rather than carry into November. Once Halloween is over, I move on to thinking about Thanksgiving.

i think it'd be more exciting and get you more in the spirit for halloween if the voting closed on halloween... thats just me though!

That could work, not to sure how many folks are not around for the weekends though. Maybe open voting on Thursday?

I'd like to give people a full week, since we do the same thing for our Rumbles. If we could get the contest live this week, do you think two weeks is enough for submissions? We could have them all in by Friday the 20th and we can vote from Friday the 21st through Friday the 28th or so?

I think 2 weeks is enough except maybe for pumpkin carving. People may not be able to carve 1 week before and have the pumpkin still be good for Halloween.

Unless they are carving just for the contest and not one they would be displaying on Halloween.
