That makes a lot of sense, though.

Definitely sounds like a possibility to me

I didn't always read out loud, often, he was sitting next to me, and I'd just point at the parts I wanted him to read over my shoulder.

I need to do that - there's some things in that book I want to not so subtly suggest

I think M gets some of his best ideas from stories or videos that I not-so-subtly send him. It's a great way to pick up new tricks!

Aw, I'm sorry! Didn't mean to leave you guessing!

I know the comment wasn't limited to that book, but I also told him that one day, I'd take a story and he'd have to do everything that would be in it. I still have to select one.

I think it could have been longer, but if it was a whole book I would have gotten bored.

Good Point.

I haven't made it all the way through the book yet, but I am really loving it so far. I grew up reading free stories on the internet and I don't know if I'll ever go back!

While my usual preferences used to be for really hardcore stuff, I may have been converted. The stories in this book are so beautiful, they really brought a whole a new dimension in BDSM relationships for me...

I think the thing I love most about erotica short stories is that it fuels my fantasies. Sometimes it gets hard to come up with new ones on my own. These kind of give us new fuel to stoke our imaginative fires.

And sometimes even new things to actually try.

Another question to those who read the book: do you consider this female oriented, male oriented, or gender neutral in terms of target audience?

That's interesting to know... I've been thinking about this myself - I want to start submitting some shorts this year and I want to use my real name, but I worry my last name isn't, you know, "mainstream" enough.

I think it is definitely not oriented towards one gender, but definitely to those with hetero or bisexual tendancies

Ok, ok, I was a little exagerating, but as I was reading On the Twelfth Day, the story would go on to something new before I would have time to get in the mood for what was going on. And I felt like I was left hanging durign the whole story, which I didn't like that much.

Hmmm. Well right now I'm hoping it's gender neutral, but I can never really tell. I'll have to find a couple of my fav stories to read to my hubby and see what he says. He tends to over-analyse erotica, so we'll see how that goes!

I only know that as a submissive the whole book is appealing...

I'd agree - I'd also say oriented towards those who have the top or bottom tendency. I think while reading the stories, you relate to the character you'd be, if that makes sense.

Maybe it was just because I couldn't wait to get to the harder stuff, or because I was already 3 stories in at that point and eager to get out of a bath that was so hot it was making me sweat.

I wanted to address the idea of submission being more beautiful than hard. I just wrote a short scene like that. (a les scene, but whatev) (and GWF, I now see what you were saying about the ear repetition...) I see a lot of tenderness in both being topped and topping. Even in some of the harder scenes.

Does the book get "harder" as the stories go along?

I don't think these compellations are meant to satisfy, just to leave you wanting to read more from the author.
