Yes- Borders just could not get it right. funny thing was they did do well with bondage, especially yours!

How many of you read the introductions to anthologies? Do you read them before after dipping ... more
I always read them. I want to know the anthologist's point of view, what they wanted or thought was essential in the collection. I bet you sometimes start out expecting a certain kind of submission only to receive something entirely different. And the intros are where you learn what shocked or delighted the editor, what themes emerged, etc.

Now that I'm thinking about hot stories and ice cream, a story (or anthology) called "Ice Creaming" sounds tempting. Winter theme, far northern theme, whatever.

Hi Sacchi!! I find *writing* introductions to be difficult. I want it to be something readers want to read, but I don't want to eat up pages that could be devoted to the hot stories. I'm interested to see what others say about this question, too.

I read them randomly, sometimes at the beginning, sometimes when I am halfway through the book, sometimes because I REALLY don't want the book to be over already so I am looking for just a bit more of it. On occasion, not at all.

I thought that was so funny! Especially because if you type "fuck" into Amazon's search engine (something I might do more than most people), you get a page "Showing 1 - 16 of 26,500 Results." Heh.

Awesome! Does he read erotica now too? Or just reap the rewards from your literary habits?

I always read them too. If someone is willing to put the time into it then I am willing to read it.

Hi! Still working on dinner to I'll be stepping in and out, but I'm here caught up (for now).

I figure the other poster was talking about "Just Add Water" though it might also have been "On a Hot Tin Roof."

Aw, thanks! And yes, this will be my last book club discussion for a little while. I will try to pop in when I can, but the weeks are flying by! The wonderful Sacchi Green will be taking over as your moderator-- and she's not only a brilliant writer and editor, she also loves to talk books!

See, where now, I have the image of two WAY to young looking girls eating ice cream out of each others butts, which occurred in some fetish porn I watched a couple years ago.

I love Alison's intros and I feel like she is letting us in on her secrets. An intimate reading experience and so intriguing you have to keep on readin.

*so I'll be stepping in and out

Is it possible to like something and be totally pissed off by it at the same time? I loved "Lucifer and Venus", but it was so damn short that I thought my book was misprinted. TEASE!

I think that's really neat! I've been tempted to read Kristina's Limo story to my hubby. I just haven't gotten up the nerve yet. lol
