I have to say I enjoy all of the characters in Mitzi's book but I did want to wear Caroline's high topped boots for just one evening..

That sounds interesting! I do want a pair of high topped boots, or should I say hubby wants me to own a pair of them. So I can only imagine.

Thanks And as far as pronunciation goes, I usually think of it as there being secret o's before the x's

We actually have row upon row of picture discs on our bedroom and living room walls. People always comment on them when they visit. A lot of people ask if they actually can be played like a normal record. Of course they can!

There is a part of me that has always wanted to dress up in tall spike heeled boots and lots of tight black leather. I guess, somewhere deep inside I really am a dominatrix.

Hmm, well, if you want depictions of women, that's one thing--Fanny Hill, The Pearl, other that escape my leaky brain just now. But depictions of women _by_ women, or at least of real women rather than male fantasies, are another matter. Anias Nin is one writer to check out, but I'm sure you knew that. And Colette, although she wasn't as explicit.

Huh, I always imagined it more like TexyMexy. Probably because I live in Texas and eat a lot of TexMex food.

Surprisingly, some of the online western wear shops carry quite interesting Victorian-looking boots. I haven't seen the hotter styles in the stores!

No problem, I have a lot of things bookmarked from endless searches lol. Also the reason that my computers are tightly locked to keep my teens out of them lol.

Thanks for that tip! I've always had a thing for the boots that have the buttons running down them. They're just so cool looking!

They are hard to find. I love boots but being in texas pretty much the only ones you can find are cowboy boots. There are some pretty hot ass-jacker cowboy ones though lol.

Yup, Anais is one I'm rereading as we speak. Colette I hadn't thought of. I guess what I mean by depictions is how in erotica have women been depicted? What roles do they play? What stereotypes does erotica help break or build? Etc.

There's a subgenre of books that takes on famous works from the viewpoint of a different character. Well, maybe subgenre is overstating it, since I can only think of one right now, Gone with the Wind becoming The Wind Done Gone from the viewpoint of a female slave, although I'm sure there are a few others. That one got a big law suit going, because Margaret Mitchell's heirs objected and the book is still under copyright. It's safer to back farther and be sure your choice is in the public domain.
