Writers can't all experience everything and every place (we'd need several dozen lifetimes for that!), so it's a matter of research and imagination! I'm glad to hear I was authentic to the location.

Totally irrelevant, but I love San Francisco, too, and set a story there (in the late 1800s) for Kristina Wright's Steamlust, (We'll be discussing that book in a couple of months, but it's out now.)
