I know that there are some men who can write convincing female characters, and women who can write male ones. I don't necessarily see the sexes as intrinsically different, or at opposite ends of a spectrum. I wonder whether men writing in a declared all-male book would write differently just to match that heme.

Yeah, but with covers like the one on Red Velvet and Absinthe, it will attract more readers! Don't hide us under a bushel!
true, those books we need in ebook and paperback..Then I'd have to build more room onto my house, lol.

I think with a great writer you wouldn't know what sex they were unless you were told.

Yes, but more potential problem if you drop the e-reader than with a book.

I agree. People assumed I was a man for years.

Especially if you read in the tub, as I often do.

I do that with paperbacks not my ereader. I have dropped many books in the tub. Made me want to cry because I had to wait for it to dry before I could finish it.

Good night, Mitzi. I hope we'll see you back here with your next book.

Good night all! Thanks for the great discussion. I'll check back in a minute, but all this talk of snacks is driving me toward the kitchen.

So far I don't think I've managed to drop any of my books in the bathtub. But I do try to stick to magazines as much as possible, just in case. But my mom once dropped one of my books in Lake Powell. (My paperback copy of Good Omens by Pratchett & Gaiman, but that just gave me a good excuse to by a hardcover copy when it was reissued!)
